I share that impression.

But I don't want to speculate because I suspect there may be plenty we don't know.

This "Lion" character spoke about some "clause in DR's terms". It's probably BS but, if its exists, I wonder whether it was an existing clause that kicked in at some stage in his contract (like Toby's release fee in the last year), or whether it's part of the ongoing negotiations with Juve.

BREAKING: Danny Rose is allowed to travel to italy to conclude talks to Juventus. The clause in the terms he has signed will come handy Dybala very much in balance

The guys almost as reliable as me

It's interesting that a player who felt homesick in London is only being linked to european clubs. I get the impression we aren't selling to domestic rivals which in Danny's case is doing him a disservice. Doubt he'll leave this window.

Been linked with Newcastle ( if he wanted to go there is a separate matter) in past few days. Apparently they couldn’t meet his wage demands.

I hope he doesn’t leave this window he’s our best left back and right now is better than sessegnon.
Aren’t we supposed to be increasing the 1st team squad not depleting it further? So far it’s 2 out and one in. Not good for an already thread bare squad. To get rid of our full backs of choice without better replacements seems like an add strategy to me.

Maybe he wants to leave. He also has 2 years left on his contract, the time others are saying we should decide to sell or not. If he does want to go and has said he won't sign a new deal, this is absolutely the right time to sell him.

Yep. The club need to get back to the 2 year sell or sign rule.

Then maybe we should be getting in a replacement.

Strange that we don’t seem to have had any ITK about solid offers. If he’s not gone by the end of this week I don’t think we should sell him. He’s still more than good enough for our XI and it’s one less area to address at the end of the window.

Of course. But are you not concerned with how the squad is shaping up with players still wanting out in shape of Rose, CE and Toby (less likely now)? And the same old difficulties of getting good quality players in. If it wasn’t for the past 18 months I’d be less paranoid. The first teamers were on the floor by the end of the season. If we can’t agree close to the values other teams put on their players, then we can’t afford to let top performers leave. Rose is one of them.

You can't stop someone leaving. If they want to go the only alternative is forcing them to see out their contract meaning they walk on a free. Whether I'm concerned by it is irrelevant really, it's just the way it is. Of course this may not even be the case for Rose I don't know, just speculating.

Listening to his interview towards end of the season it seemed like it was the clubs decision to sell him, god forbid we have a player over 30 who we can’t sell for a profit on our books.

I'm confused. Are you criticising the club for wanting to sell our over-30 players?

Yes if we can’t get a better player than the one we are selling.
Your point makes no sense given Rose isn’t 30, we’ve offered Llorente a new contract and we’ve never tried to sell Lloris or Vertonghen.
