The problem was his analysis hinged on "he goes missing in big games".

A) No he doesn't, look at how he ran Chelsea ragged.
B) That's more to do with the fact most number 10s anywhere in the world get shut down in big games because the number one thing top teams do is shut down each other's supply lines. They all "go missing" so it becomes up to the other players to make up for the fact that opponents will try and mark these players out of the game.
Agree, and that's why, right now, the Danny Rose recovery is key when we play top teams like Chels in the cup. We create so much more space in central midfield when we have Rose and Walker stretching oppositition defences and defensive midfieders on both sides of the park. It gives Eriksen far more space and time, plus it means opposition attacking midfielders like Hazard have far more work to do in terms of defensive duties, and reduces their attacking threat.

Easily the most underrated player in the Premiership and probably the one we would miss in our squad the most.

Wonderful footballer and amazingly consistent in the way he controls games for us, even take today where his influence wasn't as obvious at times, it still felt like everything from defence has to go via him to get to our other front 3!

I personally think he's added a further physicality and assertion to his game since the turn of the year.

There were times I felt he was running on his tippy toes to avoid getting touched but he's really started to run a lot harder with the ball now using his arms and body to shield the ball from his opposing player.

Same could be said for the entire front three attacking midfielders to be honest.

Other than perhaps Lukaku, I can't think of a more in form player in the league right now.

Best player on the pitch today. Sadly it wasn't enough.
I was frustrated with Eriksen today. We had so many corners and set pieces and I felt Eriksen struggled to beat the first defender. But then he does that all world assist to Dele.

I guess my frustration is more about we had 10 or so corners and couldn't score and Chelsea has 1 (or very few) and Hazard scores.

I think at one point Dier was so frustrated at Eriksen for not beating the first man in his corner that Dier gestured strongly to him to put the ball to the middle where he and Toby were. Love such 'fights'.

While Eriksen really needs to improve in his corners, I have no complains in him.. Brilliant so far.. Just pass the corner duties to Son or Trips.

Because we cleared it straight to Hazard, not because it was a particularly good delivery.
