Just turned 25 and has 30 goals and 33 assists for Spurs already. More goals than Berbatov and way more assists than Bale - in fact only second to lennon in our all time PL assist! I have always loved this guy and I am so glad he is winning over some of those who were more hesitant. I just hope we can match his ambition for one or two more years (as with Kane, Alli and Son - all four will soon be topping our all time charts).

He is the one player that if he ever get's injured we will utterly incapable of replacing him. He is our most important player and is getting better and better.

Must be comfortably worth north of 50 million now

Easily. He's up there with the best playmakers in Europe. As I said on another thread, I wouldn't be surprised if we receive some big bids for him this summer - players with his creative quality are hard to find.

My 1st name in the team sheet since the beginning of this year, easily.. Even ahead of Toby, Lloris and Kane..

He will be crucial to our possibilities of doing a double this season.. Best player for me in the league at the moment..

Eriksen can still be a little weak in the tackle and can lose possession at times where a little more strength would mean he would be in more dangerous positions, but... that aside, the rest of his game is excelllent and he has been very important to us, more so in Kane's absence.

get over it, he's not weak in the tackle he just picks and chooses when he commits himself, but just look at how he totally mugged Joey Barton for our second against Burnley. He's extremely smart and works his socks off every game, which makes up for his "strength".

I think he has really stepped up since Kane got injured, he seems to have taken on a captains responsibility, the driving force of the team.

I love him further forward, but that video perfectly demonstrates how effective he can be from a deeper position as well. I wouldn't mind seeing him start as a nominal CM, alongside Wanyama, at home to Watford in order to play Son, Alli and Janssen all in the same team.

It would allow him to pull all the strings, but also make use of the excellent timing of his runs from deep, demonstrated by his goal.

Absolutely agree. We have shown we can cope without Kane but Eriksen is the creative hub in our team and we would be predictable without him. If he was injured , especially now on top of our other injuries, that would be very worrying. Lamela and Winks could both be capable deputies but unfortunately......

There must be plenty on here who have done a dramatic U-Turn from their posts earlier in the season.

Yank Spurs saying he shouldn't be anywhere near the first team and many others saying how shit he was and not recognising it was just a dip in form. Shit, people were even trying to say that he was crap last season as well.

I agree with others who've said he's our most important player. Danny Rose is massive for us but we've won 5 on the spin without him. We can win without Hugo, Wanyama, Kane. We've also gone without Tobi and Dembele and still done ok (Losing Tobi hurts us big time though tbf) but I think if we lost Eriksen for a sustained period of time we'd be pretty fucked, he's that important.

The only thing I would say is that in this 3-4-2-1 I really think Lamela would be great in the 2 alongside Alli if Eriksen ever got injured but obviously we haven't had the opportunity to see him in that role.

Predicted this in the Gotze thread last summer when all those rumours were going around.

There was a debate on BT after the Chelsea match about how much we could strengthen, and Hoddle seemed to identify Eriksen as the weak link. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

He's been magnificent since January really. Can't help but feel that if he'd found even half this form in the 1st half of the season we'd be on top of the league now.

I love clever players and Erikssen is certainly just that, such a clever player.

Like today for the fourth goal, before releasing the ball to Trippier, he took a small sidestep to the left which meant the defender went to his right, and that diverted the defenders attention away from tripper creating the space.

Hoddle was a wonderful footballer. He is a crap pundit.
The problem was his analysis hinged on "he goes missing in big games".

A) No he doesn't, look at how he ran Chelsea ragged.
B) That's more to do with the fact most number 10s anywhere in the world get shut down in big games because the number one thing top teams do is shut down each other's supply lines. They all "go missing" so it becomes up to the other players to make up for the fact that opponents will try and mark these players out of the game.
