Player watch: Christian Eriksen

I don't think any of them suggested we needed to "upgrade" on him, I think it was more suggesting that there are aspects of his game that still tend to annoy us as fans. Namely his set-piece delivery.

Russ Williams was spot on saying we need to sign a player who can "pick the lock" in the tight games. Could have been the difference between 1 point and 3 in some of the draws we've played out this season.

Eriksen is the definition of a lock-picker.

We really do have a fabulous 1st team. Voted for Toby as player of the season last year and he's been great again. Kane has consistently scored over the past 3 seasons. Lloris is I believe a legend for us now.

But when Eriksen plays well we play well. And we are 2nd in the table. That's says bucket loads to me.

We have plenty of brilliant attacking players but Eriksen is the only one who, when he gets the ball in a good area, I have absolute confidence in doing something clever.

He started off very slow but after a month or so he woke up and now has been more and more of a talisman then ever before.

He's become the player We hoped he could be when we signed him. First 2-3 months of the season he was poor but then has stepped up so much. Consistently now delivering outstanding performances week in week out and always one step ahead of most opposition

That ball he played over the top for Alli to header was a peach, pity i didn't end in a goal.

His vision and long range passing has been immense lately.
