Player watch: Christian Eriksen

Most of you are so pathetic. Did you watch the game today? Eriksen was back to his best. Dropped like the rest of the team in the 2nd half.

Kane should have scored 3 from Eriksen's passes today + a free kick on the crossbar. Instead you all go in here and blame the guy? Embarrassing. What more do you expect from the guy when his teammates can't put the ball in the back of the net.

Jesus christ im done in here.

I really dont get these people who say you're not a real fan if you're fkin upset and pissed at our players/manager/club/chairman or whatever when we've just pretty much fkin thrown away a 10pt lead for a top 4 spot!
If you're not totally fked off Id say you probably dont care enough.
Nobody is saying they are done with being a spurs fan and if they are its just said in anger, they arent gonna pop down Sports Direct tomorrow and buy a Man City shirt.
But this collapse is some fkers fault and they need to be held accountable.

In all of world football and not over that magic £20 million mark - are we honestly believing that there isn't a player that could have been purchased in either of the windows that would have taken the pressure off of Eriksen over the course of this season?

I'm fucking baffled that they couldn't find ONE player to add to the ranks of this squad who could have offered options similar to what he brings to the team. I know it wouldn't be like for like but surely ...

What a fucking oversight. Whose fault is that?
I don't think our scouting team can identify a technical player; gosh Jan and Toby are our best technical players. We only sign workhorses nowadays. Redknapp's final team would honestly piss all over this current team.

Eriksen is a very good player when he is at his best. Unfortunately he has been below par for quite some time now. We can all speculate the reason/s but only he knows the truth.

He, and the team as a whole, played well in the first half yesterday but then the whole lot became complacent in the second half.

It’s difficult to replace Kane as he’s our main source of goals so we should at least have tried to change the play by replacing Eriksen with Lamela for the remaining 20 or 30 minutes.

It’s not like we are dropping him but just trying something different to change the flow of the game .

A freekick on the fucking cross bar? Are we supposed to give him credit for that? It's still a miss mate. He hasn't scored a freekick in the PL since 2015 or some shit.

Eriksen has been atrociously bad for months now, if you can't see that you should try watching the games with your eyes open. He's always bottled challenges, but he isn't even doing the basics on the football pitch. He is giving the ball away constantly with simple passes, it's a mentality/attitude/concentration thing and it's been happening for months now.

Eriksen will always be capable of playing the odd sublime pass when he's on the pitch, but you have to look deeper than that. His performances have been way way below acceptable.

It's easy for a player to be praised for scoring a 25 yard goal, but in my eyes it doesn't eradicate the rest of their performance.

There is something wrong with him. My guess would be, off the field matters are effecting his performances. he doesn't look at it, taken his eyes off the ball. Whatever, but his attitude and concentration is just not there.

He's not the only one, but he has stood out for me as being a "key" player who is looking way way way off form.

Real Madrid - your having a laugh. He is too inconsistent and we are relying on him too much. I wouldn’t be sorry to see him go if this dross is all he is capable of week in week out. Levy’s penny pinching as usual. No back up or competition.

Eriksen is a good player when on his game but that is not very often certainly not often enough for a top side and he is replaceable with someone who would be more consistent .
Lets be honest Ward Prowse has scored from direct free kicks three times in his last five games ; Eriksen has not scored from free kick since 2015 . Eriksen corners 9 out of 10. do not get past the first man . It is not something I am making up its true .
Those that a fans say about the amount of ground he covers well there are umpteen players with plenty of oil in their tank but it does not make them great players although it helps . So we are left with his assists and Fraser of Bournmouth now has one more than Eriksen
and most would say Fraser is not good enough for us .
Kane did not step up against saints as he missed a few chances he would normally have taken but generally he steps up when the pressure is on as he is a top player.Eriksen is not alone in not getting it done when the pressure is on but he is the one thats touted as world class by some and the shame is he is not a really top player .

Real Madrid? He’s having a laugh, they eat and spit out world class players if they don’t perform consistently e.g Bale. He’s an excellent player when on form but not world class.

I would certainly take a swap between CE and Isco. He’s the only replacement I could see doing what Eriksen does.

FFS there are umpteen leagues and umpteen players. What have our scouts been doing? If we can’t find someone other then fucking Isco for Eriksen then we may as well go home. He is another inconsistent so and so. Spare me the fricken agony. Please!

Agreed. I'm not sure what you're disagreeing with in my post however.

I'm not disagreeing with you, just pointing to the fact that what you're saying about Poch, for whatever reason, doesn't seem to apply to Ericksen!

Kane puts in one of the chances Eriksen put on a plate for him and that free kick goes two inches lower and people would be giving him man of the match.

His job is to create, yesterday he created.

He didn't yesterday. He was superb in the first half. That's what i'm talking about.
When he gets our best players around him he plays well. He can do fuck all alone with players like Rose, Trippier, Winks, Sissoko, Dier, Lamela & Lucas in the starting 11 who provides NOTHING going forward.

I don't think there's something massive wrong with him other than being a dad for the first time. And that he's in a team which doesn't have the mentality to be a top3 side in the PL, and now we're going to piss another season away for a thrid time in a row.

He has not been at this best this season I can agree with that, but the amount of criticism he's getting, just because we're maybe about to loose him is unreal for some fans. I can't believe what i'm reading in here.

Nah not even that could get him an MOTM. Instead people giving him a 4 in the ratings vs Saints :ROFLMAO:

Nope there is still no C in Eriksen, ffs he's been with us since 2013 and soon played over 200 games for us.
