Player watch: Christian Eriksen

Of course there is. It depends if you believe the Poch didn’t want to sign anyone or we couldn’t find anyone idea or the as we didn’t sell anyone we didn’t have even £20m to spend on a player. I know which one I believe taking historical evidence into my decision making.
Doesn't add up throwing in the Dembele money.

They're as culpable as one another.

Tielemams
I see his name mentioned a lot but did we actually have any interest in him at all considering Jardim wanted Silva from Leicester and it made sense for Tielemans to get 6 months or so the other way.

There must be other touted players of this age group we could have looked at.

This club transfer wise are a shit show at the moment, at purse string level and football level. Fucking joke.

I thought Eriksen started to look a lot more like his old self in the first half. Alli was making great runs and the link up between the front 4 was good. So unlucky with his free-kick as well. We should have been 2 or 3 up by half time. The team went flat in the 2nd half and couldn't pick themselves up. I think Eriksen is a player who thrives when we're playing well. Not really a player who picks us up when we're down though (like Kane is for example). We could really do with someone in midfield who has that drive and desire.

It's usually winks but I do feel like Lamela would have been an asset today considering we lacked Winks tenacity today.

He was playing well first half just like the team and looked back to his best, but the team capitulated in the 2nd half so it's a bit unfair to single him out on this occasion.

Yeah I think Winks has it in him to be that player. I feel he has been playing a bit too deep in place of Dier but that's down to lack of depth in there. I would like to see him dictate the play a bit further forward which in turn will allow Eriksen to be closer to Kane and Alli. For the criticism that Dier gets he is the type of player that suits Winks and Eriksen. We just need another holding midfielder in the summer for me because Wanyama can't be trusted to stay fit.

Tbh if Winks was fit, I'd have probably given Eriksen the rest and gone Dier dm, with Winks/Sissoko infront and then Dele given free reign to cause havoc. I wouldn't mind seeing that but I'm not stupid I know Eriksen is an incredible player but atm he's just not bringing the level he usually does.

The £11m? Not going to get much for that. Could’ve had Tielemans but maybe Poch genuinely didn’t fancy him. Was a loan too, £11m wouldn’t get much of use.
Could always be that the Lucas transfer last January took us over net and the Dembele fee and loan fees have balanced us up nicely.

We’ll spend fair bit this summer at least, just a shame it’s going to all come from selling players for millionth window in a row.

Nah, still don't buy it. I understand the past, and the Summer window I accept is Levy, but not the January one, I think personally it's one apiece for the pair of them.

As for this summer, they have to sell, if players want to fuck off to pastures new, or want to fuck about with their contracts then they can fuck off. Like Chairmen and Managers, players have choices to make too.

Eriksen isn't replaceable like for like, but he is replaceable, the team will have to evolve and grow. Similar to Toby - if the pair of them are sold.

Tbf, we should have been in for him before he went to Monaco.

I think given we dont play for a few weeks we should be looking to start Eriksen, Alli, Kane and Son against Liverpool. I'm hoping the little break with players going off for international duty will help clear their heads. I like to think Eriksen will get himself together for the final 6 week run in. I'm not usually a fan of international breaks during the season but at this time I think we really need it.

I’ve long thought if Eriksen plays well we play well. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that our performances have suffered at the same time as his. I don’t think he’s replaceable at all (by us) unless you mean in his current form. Which doesn’t get us anywhere as we’ll still be playing nowhere near as well as have in past.

We simply have far too much to do ignoring Eriksen and Toby replacement and we simply won’t spend the required money. We are clearly regressing and it’s impossible to not see this continuing next season unless the powers that be wake up and think okay it’s time we put £100m into the kitty on top of sales.

Been saying it for a the last few games. Eriksen needs to be dropped. Not contributing anything to the team. A passenger. I’ve already accepted he’s going in the summer and with every passing game can’t wait to get rid.

Eriksen is a loser and he'll be absolutely eaten alive at Real by the fans. I definitely wont miss him pussying out of every single little challenge.

At least Kyle Walker had the balls to tell Poch he wanted to leave in the summer. Eriksen has just checked out completely when we need him most.

It does frustrate me when he bottles out of any challenge..a premier league footballer and he can’t/won’t tackle....Ozil is getting slagged every week for doing pretty much the same...
