I like him..im not sure why because hes not been great so far but I would keep him and play him in rotation with erikson behind the striker. I think he should be given a chance to play there because he has shown glimpses of class goin forward. I would rather sell dembele who on his day is very good but for his ability dissapoints.

All in all I like Paulinho but he needs to speed up his game having played Brazilan football which is much more slower to a high intensity English game will take time getting used to. Paulinho being on the bench a few games isn't a bad thing providing games are selected for him to play I think we'll see the best from our Bale money next season.

The one player I expected to hit the ground running and scoring goals was Soldado.

He ought to prove it on pitch, not on paper and price tag.

On his performances calling him Brazilian Jenas is insult to Jenas.
Paul and Bentileb are not that good defensively.
Paul has actually scored some goals for us and assisted a couple.
Bentileb has not any goals and looked poor in some big games.
Bentileb gets the benefit of the doubt at the moment being very young and a good prospect, prospect being the operative word here.
So before you start writing Paul off, accept that not all his performances have been as bad as your making out.

Difference is big enough as it stands

Paul has actually scored some goals for us and assisted a couple.

True - seemingly not enough to compensate his lacklustre performances otherwise.

True, looked great against Stoke.

True, looked great against Stoke.
Cardiff, Swansea, Chelsea and numerous other early season games.
First season here, needs to up the tempo some.
But like i said he wouldnt be playing in my first team of late.

sell him and buy rakitic. dont like Paulinhos style, he is not even happy that the team wins. Should be a bit more sandro in him, fighting spirit so to say.

I see your point whether a player celebrates wildly or not doesn't need to be an indicator of how dedicated a player is. Fex., I can't remeber Berba go crazy when Spurs won/he scored.

he just needs to get up to the speed of the english game. he has loads of talent and the way he tore apart stoke made me cream my pants. instead of running bentaleb into the ground i do believe he should be rotated with paulinho....

I think there is another question to be asked

First Capoue is sidelined
Then we see Chadli not get games
Soldado gets less and less starts and not much time as a sub
Then we see Paulinho get less and less games

I think we have to ask more questions as to why there is not more end product from these guys. It easy to say I would have prefered [another name] or that they were never going to make it it in this league. I would ask much more serious questions about the integration of the new guys and the management of them.

We should have seen at least one a real success, they are not duffers despite many's comments. Most pick on individuals and criticize but dont look at the whole.

The lack of integration and soul of the team worries more. AVB changed the team every game TS changes the way we play ( and often the team) This is not how to create teams. It isnt a XI game it is a 14/15 man game but the has to be an indelible style running through it.

I do not know what to expect or see in each game and it might confuse the opposition once but it seems to have a massive affect on ourselves

At this rate we must have more internationals on the bench bar probably Chelski

Pleasantly surprised that we've reached page 3 and no-one has mentioned his Messi-esque performances in the Confederations Cup yet.

The stoke game gives me hope. Give him a season where he's fully focused on us and not the WC.

He was injured don't forget. Capoue didn't replicate the form he showed in his first 3 games when he came back from injury either.

None of our signings have been that great but I think they all deserve another season to show what they are made of. It's not like they've been given the most stable platform to flourish on this season.

There is a top class player in there somewhere - he is obviously finding the transition to the Premier League very difficult which is understandable. I haven't given up on him at all, I think he could be amazing for us next season.

I've more faith that Pailinho has more potential than Dembele, who cost us the same. The kid needs guidance and nurturing. If we're willing to be patient with Lamela, why not Paulinho as well?
Oscar took a while to settle as well. Even now, Maureen is handling him with care.

Because Lamela has all the attributes to be a world class player, Paulinho doesn't, imo.

Not too sure what Paulinho brings to the party, as I struggle to see any identity to his game. He's not creative or pacey, and on the other hand, not that combative or a good reader of the game.

I think TS already answered this when he said he don't know the players! :cautious:
