He scored a free kick against a Japanese side in Asian Champion's league last year. This was an amazing goal without a doubt.

If the guy had ambition and was a believer in his own ability he would be playing in Europe. I have scored goals like Paulinho has in a kick about, I chipped the goalie from 30 yards out, the reason why I am not getting 50,000 plus a week is because I am not good enough to do at the top level, my level is a basic level.

I have seen a lot of great goals scored at grass roots level to. Be fair.

But my point about Paulinho is that he was given opportunities and failed to take any. I think he was 26/27 when he left us, still in the prime of his career. I think he sees football as a job rather than a passion. Nothing wrong with that necessarily, just a bit of a shame that's all.

What happens to Jackson Martinez, the £32million man? No where to be seen on the videos. It's crazy that the Guongzhou is more expensively assembled than some of PL clubs.

He's just playing with confidence, there's nothing to say he couldn't do that in the Prem in the right circumstances. Guy just needed a bit of direction and confidence like all players.

He is also playing in a much inferior league.

I see he is playing like Messi now.

earlier today

Almost, almost worth a Dislike rating for bringing back this thread from the [relative] dead and making me remember that this **** played for us once upon a time. If ever you wished the Men In Black memory wiper was real, it would be for this guy!

He shown that he has the capability to produce that in the Prem (Stoke game springs to mind) Although mentality is a bit shit, I think a confident Paulinho can play anywhere...although I suppose you can say the same about anyone really :p

He was a player who had no strengths, couldn't pass, couldn't dribble, couldn't tackle, poor work rate and his greatest strength was some average finishing. I think we've learnt not to buy players like him, Dempsey or siggurdson, who have average to good goal returns but offer precious little else for midfielders.

A player with so much courage that he makes Georgio Wijnaldum look like Dave MacKay.

Underrating Siggy a little there imo.

Not very fair to put siggy in the same bracket as him.

Other than that, your post sums Paulinho up perfectly.
