Probably the ultimate Jekyll & Hyde footballer. Certainly more capable going forward than any of our current fit RB's.

Also a master at picking a fight prior to the taking of a set piece, then going walkabout when it actually gets taken. Generally great recovery from open play; all too often from his own casual mistakes.

In our current plight, I think I'd pass.

Im happy. The boys got fire. We need his sort of aggression in the team. Good buy for 3m, i reckon. We are in a relegation battle afterall.

which is exactly why this is a poor signing. He's a sulker, not the type of character we need help us out of this mess. Not only that but he's total shit at man marking in set pieces.

Please tell me that this is a joke....PLEASE!

The guy couldn't defend if his life depended on it, isn't that flash going forward either, certainly doesn't have a better cross than Lennon, is prone to horrendous lapses in concentration and when he inevitably loses the ball in the opponents field refuses point blank to track back often leaving the RCB 2 on 1.

Reglegation assured if this chump plays anything even close to regular part in our games.

Good signing. Should never have got rid of him. He may be a moaner but he gave 100% every game and covered the centre backs well. He is miles better than Hutton who in my opinion is a poor player.

That is one of the most laughable things I've read on this forum.

£3m for getting him back, same as they paid?
If it was £16m for Teemo, Steeed & Chimbo surely Teemo only cost £3m ish meaning
Steed was £10m?

I like Chim a lot, good player imo, the only thing is we don't need any more right backs, we have Hutton, Corluka who is doing an absoulute sterling job there and to a lesser extent Gunter =/

Are we likely to get FA dispensation as he only left 6 months ago (compared to a year for JD)? If so the FA may as well scrap that rule.

Do you think Levy is insisting on 60% sell on clauses on players we sell, so we make a profit?

I think therein lies the rub. We can't get him back before the summer. I am sure they are willing to bend the rules over a 2-3 week lag. But we sold this guy in July. We can't get him back until summer. So its obviously a flush the leak rumor.

Could be. And hopefully he insisted on a sell-on fee when we sold him previously and can now claim 'cashback' on this deal.

Levy: Okay, so we pay you 3m for Chimbonda.

Quinn: Go on then.

Levy: Now, his contract with you has a 50% sell-on fee to his former club.

Quinn: Okay. But hang on, that's you.

Levy: Yes it is. That'll be 1.5 million pounds, please.

Quinn: :|

Reminds me of the Kewell to Liverpool deal when Leeds got 7m for him and Kewell's agent negotiated a 5m fee for him and his client.

Hutton won't probably play any games for the rest of this season, maybe just the last 4 or 5, but that's without match fitness.

Gunter is young and inexperienced.

Ledley is currently injured, and when fit he can only play 1 game a week.

That leaves us with Corluka, Dawson and Woodgate for CB and RB. Take into account that Charlie can't play in Uefa cup.

Now, don't you think we need someone? Seeing as we are deep in a relegation battle?

I'm not saying Chimbo's the man, just saying buying a RB does make sense, despite what people are saying.

We can't be waiting for Hutton to overcome his injury. And we can't wait while Gunter's progressing as a player. We could be down before that happens. We need something now.

Can anyone confirm that we're definitely permanently signing him? Bringing him for a loan until the end of the season - especially considering the UEFA - may be more sensible. Is it just SSN who have suggested 3m? Could it be that he's coming but that it's a loan and SSN just made up a figure?

Answers on a postcard to the usual address, please.

I dont get the Chimbo thing, would you want him fighting for your life (if there was a wad of £10 notes somewhere else) he is hardly the most loyal player you will come across. He will provide cover but how much has this transfer cost us

Me neither, I'm trying to think of a "maybe it's because..." but I can't think of a single thing.

I don't get this move at all. Corluka, Hutton and Gunter. Sure Hutton is injured, but Gunter has proved he is more than good enough to be relied upon if Corluka is needed at centre back.

However, we all knew that Redknapp would make some interesting signings, and at least we're not going to have the debate over who is buying the players. Got to give Redknapp a chance I guess.
