He is slowly losing the plot as the pressure gets to him.
Lucky to get away with grabbing the Palace lad by the throat (even if it was a bit "handbags"), and then not letting him to return to the pitch was a bit odd. Pardew did well not to react!

From Sky:

Right, let's bring you up to speed with what happened regarding Nigel Pearson and Leicester last night with our Midlands reporter Rob Dorsett.

"At about 6.30pm last night I got word from a source that Nigel Pearson had been sacked. We and other media outlets, who also heard the news too, reported that but at about 8pm I got a call from another strong source saying 'hang on a minute, there may have been a change of heart'.

"We at Sky Sports News HQ made frantic phone calls into the club but heard nothing from Leicester until around 10pm when the club issued a statement stating Nigel remained in the job.

"We don't know exactly what happened within those three hours but it will be fascinating to see what Nigel Pearon himself has to say about this when he holds his scheduled pre-match press conference ahead of the trip to Arsenal at 2pm today."

very strange....

I know he seems popular among a high number of LCFC supporters....i wonder if his popularity along with the fact that there just aren't many replacements available at the moment.

Apparently he was told he was sacked too, at the same time as everyone else, before a 360 over it all.

Still has over 45% win rate over his time at Leicester (both spells) and has a career win rate better than Redknapp, Pardew, Pulis and Pochettino, whilst only marginally lower than Brendan Rogers,

He does seem to be losing the plot a bit but who can they actually bring in to make a difference.

Burnley seem (and I hope they continue to) to have the right approach. They have been frugal, backed their manager and I don't think they will even think about letting Dyche go. They know they are lucky to come up and are making a good go if it, but I think they've planned as if they are going down financially but and it will be a bonus if they stay up.

I still thought it was a shambles at how empty the stadium looked yesterday against West Brom. Supporters, eh?

Probably realized they had almost no options to replace him with....

"Get me Pulis on the phone"

"He is coaching WBA"

"So who's left? Pardew? Bruce?"

"Nope no available....Sherwood is around"

"Someone call Nige back in, tell him it was a big mistake....we never said 'you are sacked' we said 'you are BACKED' got it?"

I was talking about the senior management team. Fans don't sack managers, they try and influence them, but they don't have final say. Just as well or a few on here would of tried to let Poch go a few months ago...

The atmosphere up there is pretty shocking which makes the teams achievement all the more staggering.

Pearson. What is he, 52yrs old - and still trading on the hard man ("It's ok, I can look after myself") image?

Pathetic. (But good entertainment on a stag night I would imagine).

Stupid though isn't it. Burnley are the only team that were promoted that aren't in the relegation zone right now. They're 9 points off the same points they finished the season with in their other PL season (09/10). They've got a good chance of staying in one of the best leagues in the world, but can't tempted enough fans off their arses to even near fill a 21,000 seat stadium.

Is it a wonder why Ings wouldn't want to sign a contract extension?

Loads of Lesta hate him mate, i'd say only 20% of LCFC fans I know (and that is a lot) want him to stay. They want O'Neill back, predictably, or Lennon from Bolton

I saw a large amount of LCFC supporters who seemed to want Pearson around.....though almost all of them seemed to view it as "why now?" and all seemed to think if it was done when Pulis was around it would have made sense but at this point they weren't sure it would accomplish much....

Suppose it would be different if they believed they could land Lennon or O'Neil....

Yeah they definitely feel/felt he should have gone in December/January.

But lots of the city fans I know clogged up my facebook feed last night and the overwhelming majority were happy at the initial news of his departure. And when the u turn was announced they felt the club was an embarrassment rather than the board doing the right thing and giving NP until the end of the season

Actually Leicester have the rare opportunity to discipline their manager in the correct and lawful manner and probably sack him that way without laying out a ton in pay to him. As what he did is surely gross misconduct.

He should be suspended, investigated and then disciplined like in any other line of work.

Pretty on the mark i think.....it would have been one thing to sack him, people would be unhappy (or happy) but would understand it....keep him around till the end of the season and people would understand it.....but to sack him and then turn around and not sack him makes you look like an idiot....

Cant realky hate on Pearson for the McArthur incident too much. McArthur's a bit of a ****. Let's be real, if anyone did that to Charlie Adam, i dont think anyone would be upset.

Should be noted they haven't had over 20,000 average since 1974 and generally average about 14,000 fans. There are a lot of clubs in that region like Bolton, Blackburn, Preston, Bradford, Huddersfield, Leeds all competing for fans I'm not surprised.

Only one of them are in the Premier League though. Surely they must have more than 14,000 fans!
