What's the quote from Succession......"Tottenham Hotspurs, I love you, but you are not serious people" (he doesn't mention Tottenham Hotpurs in the show, but I know he's thinking it)

Also, Slot -> Ange is at least a sign of consistency of profile we want, which say Enrique wouldn't be.
I'm not sure if Ange is much like Slot. He's far more experienced but has only worked in smaller leagues. He's similar in experience to Enrique. I kind of feel he's somewhere between the 2 of them. Only issue is I wonder if Celtic are going to demand too much for him. Enrique makes a bit more sense, similar experience but managed at a higher level and a big name plus hes available. I think Kane would be more on board with Enrique than the other 2 as well.

to be honest I didn't want Slot either. I think we have messed about and for some reason Nagelsmann isn't happening when he's the obvious stand out candidate. I really don't get where we are going with this appointment at all
I really wish we could get more details on the Nagelsmann deal because for us not to be doing everything we can to get him is a disgrace.

Guardiola and Brighton both really rate Postecoglou, but Mick from Basildon doesn't because two team league innit, I could win that!

He had exactly this dismissal at Celtic. He crushed it. He'd do the same here.

doubt it he came first in a one horse race on a total budget that we are splashing on Bryan Gil.

To Dare is too Cheap for Daniel. Total clusterfuck with the number of top tier 1 managers avaialble we go for some journeyman who has bob hope of taking us to the next level.

But its ok Beyonce is playing 5 nights at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium and we can go electic karting this Autumn in the underground parking area. Fuck the football.

Someone on reddit posted a lot of documentaries and clips of interviews hes done. I have also read articles on how Celtic play.

Hes a decent coach obviously but it isn't very exciting. I think he also rules with an iron fist, distant and tough. Like Conte.
that last bit is literally not true at all. He's been described as tough but fair and his players love him. Also, distant is a weird description. Look at how he's embraced Celtic and how they've embraced him. He fully buys into wherever he is. He's very similar as a character to Pochettino imo

The grandad is soooo good even Celtic have him on a rolling yearly contract.

No comp needed.

I would too if I were Joe Hard and CCV and the journeymen players he has.

Which top tier player has this guy managed?

Mase has had more games with top tier players.

Ah fuck, am not massive on appointing Ange I have to admit. He at least tries to play the right way, but he's also a manager (like the previously linked Kompany and Alonso) who falls into the category of if he doesn't start well, he'll quickly look out of his depth, thus sooner diminishing belief that he has the capability to turn things around. I have a stronger belief that Enrique will eventually deliver on what he wants to see on the pitch, even if he doesn't start well.

Can we just forget about Kane? Nothing, and I mean nothing is gonna stop him leaving on a free next year. He’s got all the power in his hands, can get paid an absolute fortune, and stick two fingers up at Levy for reneging on his “agreement” to sell him to City.

Although criticism is well deserved I am pretty tired of the stuff about the concerts and go karts. That has no relevance to any of it whatsoever. Its just a separate income stream and doesn't impact our search for a manager or a dof etc. It just seems an unnecessary stick to beat Levy with when he has enough legitimate things to criticise.

Literally in documentaries you have Australian players saying how they never know what he's thinking, he is just always watching. You would never sit down and have a cup of coffee with him, its all business.

The more I watch and read about Ange the less impressed I become.

He just comes across as very average.

and thats with the social media gloss all over it.

The plain light of day says hes a journey man coach who has hit his level at a league one club in Scotland.

We have a top 10 budget European club with a league one mentality if we are seriously going for this guy.

Then I guess I'm Mick from Basildon. I just think we should aim higher than someone managing in that league, if that makes me look Moronic then so be it.

For me Kane’s opinion represents our ambition level. It's just a barometer for where we are heading. Like how he kicked up a fuss when we hired Nuno but got back to business under Conte. He just wants us to be ambitious so if he's happy for 1 final year under a manager I think that at least gives me confidence we are heading in the right direction.

How does Ange's team set up defensively. Do they play a high line?

Also, does he make tactical tweaks in-game? Or is he just pretty flat out attack?

I watched the Madrid highlights and they had a right go but got caught out on counter

I think he means won nothing of note AND done nothing of note. And I’d have to agree with him.

Look I'm not keen on him for a number of reasons but I find it ignorant just dismissing the relative achievements in his career. The fact he is being linked to premier league jobs as an Australian who has worked his way up the chain from his native country, building teams up to become league champions, is nothing to be sniffed at.
