Hes a better fit for the Club than Enrique.

Enrique strikes me as sulky, boring and acustomed to a higher level of ambition. His track record shows he doesnt stick around long where ever hes been, so I doubt hed last 2 years here.

It would be Conte version 2.0 imo

tbf no-one is going to last 2 years here under levy given the trajectory we're currently on.

Seems about right, just put a tenner on Enrique.................. There's that younger version of Poch the club said they were looking for! They truly have no idea what they're doing, do they?????
I agree with you but did we have that clear steer from the Club of what they were looking for? It may be that the Spurs related journalists were briefed that that was the case but it could also be one of those rumours that becomes fact over time and on this site. As I say I can't recall s there may well have been that clear message..

Ange is completely different to Nuno. He's a strong character and lives and dies by super attacking, entertaining football.

If he does only last 8 months then at the very least it will be an 8 months that will be fun to watch, and i don't think we've been able to say that since Pochettino was here

It's going to take a lot more than "fun to watch" to save this club.

I don't think people realise how highly respected Ange is within the football world and in particular the City Group.

It might not work but all the same things were said about him before he joined Celtic and now they worship him.

Sure it's not difficult to win the league at Celtic but because they are used to winning it and have such high expectations, it's even harder for them to worship someone. For him to become that meaningful to them in such a short space of time shows the real impact he's had at the club imo, before we all just write him off.

Maybe as some have already speculated, Levy and the board are either in denial about a complete rebuild or are horrified about what it will entail so they (as usual) have decided to go halfway (again) and hire someone they believe can work with what we currently have while also integrating some youth…Personally, I think we need a complete overhaul because we keep avoiding the fact that the squad has largely become stale and complacent…

Been said before but if you were for Slot I don't see why you wouldn't be at least ok with giving Ange a chance.

The main difference seems to be that the Dutch league is slightly better than the Scottish one and yeah it's slightly better. So Slot has Ajax and PSV to cope with but don't forget Ajax are a mess right now, I think they're still looking for a manager actually and even PSV are nowhere near the club they once were. In Scotland he has got them playing some amazing stuff and he plays his rivals 4 times a year and by the way that rivalry is as heated as anything in football.

I'd prefer Nagelsmann but after the way so many seem to fall in love with Slot I'd be disappointed if most weren't at least prepared to give Ange a chance.

Who gives a fuck what the City Group think? They’re a financially doped sports washing machine. Their opinion mean’s absolutely nothing when they can buy virtually every league their teams are in.

This will end in tears.

I’m pretty open minded about Ange. Seems a good guy and would be coming with seemingly decent ideas and the right beliefs about football.

I was horrified when we went for Nuno as the football that last season at Wolves was diabolical. Least Ange will be coming from a high point.

I don't think anyone is in denial. The squad has been slowly in rebuild since Paratici came in as DOF. I think that will just continue. It is clear we need a GK, WLB has already said we're targeting Laporte/Ndicka to strengthen the defence, and we've been heavily linked to Maddison as a creative attacking player.

We don't need to completely overhaul the squad because at least 50% of them have only been here for the last couple of years. Players like Lloris, Sanchez, Tanganga, Moura, Winks, Lo Celso/Ndombele will all be sold or loaned out.

I reckon this will happen no matter who is appointed as manager.

I remember the days of Ossie and super attacking football. Not sure if you are as old as me but I can assure you there was no fun in getting beat every week, even if the score was 3-4

The sad reality is, whoever is in charge will face these problems as history tells us.
The boards decisions, will always lead to the managers eventual downfall.

True but he just feels like he is well down our list of potential candidates (third or fourth) and, while I do not believe this, it seems like a desperate hire because we are being rejected by a number of appealing candidates… I will say one thing which is that we could do worse such as hiring Rodgers but I do not think that is how we should approach things as we should try to always go after the best candidate available which I do not believe we have done since Nagelsmann and Gallardo are still out there…

This is me. It's a risk, but at least the football will be good. Added to that the never say die Aussie attitude he brings. I actually think this could be a very fruitful appointment, but I do understand the reservations

I'll be giving whoever it is a chance. I know next to nothing about the majority of the names left (even Enrique as I am not as clued up as I used to be). Ange could surprise people and needs to be given a chance by the fans without getting on his back straight away if we go behind in the first game. That goes for anyone we end up hiring.
