Ive got a feeling about that Chelsea game...Think we'll surprise everyone. We seem to perform at our best when there is no expectation on us to win.

We seem to have a psychological hold over Southampton , and oddly enough Watford will make me the most nervous, cause we somehow seem to make hard work of teams like them
I actually think Chelsea more of a chance than Soton away

I think it'll be 5 personally. D, W, D.

I don't think that'd be a disaster, but we will all go back to moaning about how we draw too many games.
And if we win them all people can go back to moaning about Wanyama

Tricky run of fixtures.

Southampton are a bit like a vanilla version of us. Don't score many, don't concede too many either. We've got a decent record at St Mary's though. If we can the 1st goal, we should be OK.

Watford. They've been in a bit of sticky patch. Our games at Vicarage Road are usually tight though.

Chelsea. We gave them a really scare for 40 mins a few weeks back. They were on the ropes, and that Pedro goal, particularly the timing, changed the game. I feel we have a good chance at home, under the lights, in a festive fixture. Could do with a bit of luck, and them getting an injury to Costa or Hazard though.

I reckon we'll beat Southampton more comfortably than people think, the 10 day rest will do us good - 1-3.

We'll carry some momentum into the Watford game but it'll be tight - 0-1.

The Chelsea game comes at a good time I feel. I don't think we'll lose and we could even sneak a win, but that feels optimistic so 1-1.

I'm not really convinced by rests. I think players slack off/forget how to play. I would expect it to be a turgid affair. Hope I am wrong of course.

You could be right, it's always better to have a bit of momentum. But I think we'll come back focused and ready to compete. The mindset seems good at the moment.

I think the cut off is the end of the game week so if anyone picks up a 5th yellow against them, they will be banned for Chelsea

you need to re-edit, someone said that our game v Watford counts, so we need Jan, Walker especially to pick up a yellow v Southampton. if Wanyama gets booked v Watford at least we have Dier to step in v Chelsea.

both Southampton and Watford away are tricky fixtures and so far this season we have only won 2 away league matches, and drawn 4, with losing our last 2. Southampton have only lost 1 at home so far, that being Chelsea, so hopefully our history there continues. Watford have had an up and down home form so hopefully we can make it a little worse. would love 6pts, but feel we will get 4 max.

Chelsea game is heading towards our biggest game of the season, 1 hopefully stopping their winning run, 2, our last game against them at the lane, and under the lights, and finally 3, lose that if they win their next 2 and we don't get max points from the next 2, and all we will be able to hope for this season will be top 4, which at the moment is most probably out of site, though a lot could happen in the remaining 18 games after. just don't see them dropping enough points now, but definitely not 13-14.

at the end of the day though our next game is always the most important

I've looked at multiple articles that have all said the cut-off date is 31st December, which is a Saturday anyway.

the thing is if someone had a player booked on the Saturday after their 19th game, and got suspended, I'm sure there would be uproar if we had 1 booked the day after and escaped a ban after 19 games

Would people rather drawing the first 2, then beating Chelsea, or

winning the first 2 but losing to Chelsea.
Points are more important than being undefeated.
You have a situation where we are unbeaten but have 5 points to 6 points and a loss. I'd rather have 6 points.

Yellow cards are definitely 100% reset on 31st December. So the slate is wiped clean after Southampton.

I got this from the FA player rules booklet.

We possibly got lucky for once...
