Can't help but feel this is a critical period off the back of two home games we simply had to win.

United have turned a corner for sure, and finally the penny has dropped to play Pogba in a three man midfield. Expect them to get stronger as the season wears on.

I think we need to take 7 points from those 3. Tough ask but I'm hoping we find more consistentcy now. We've been hanging in there but we need to go up a gear or two to last the distance this season imo - for top 4.

What do people think we'll take from those 3 and how much will Poch rotate? Wanyama has played a lot, maybe he'll get a rest against Watford.

I think we'll get 4-6 points.
Lose to Southampton , draw or win vs Watford and no clue vs Chelsea, heart says win but would be typical if we lost.

Agree very crucial period and we need really minimum 7 points given where we are at and how others are performing. And as well as we are playing for some reason I just don't see us getting too many points from these games. I think after these 3 games well really know where we can finish this year. A top team who will be finishing top 1-3 would at worst win 2 of these but ideally all of them. If we want to catch Chelsea then we need to win both the away games and beat them.

Big big games. Great to have won the last 3 home games as 'no easy games' but this is now the real test. 6-9 points from these games and at least a draw vs Chelsea and we'd still be in good shape.

Think we'll beat Southampton, pretty good record down there even though they're doing well under new management.

The next 3 games are definitely the most important games coming up after the last three games that we had which were the most important games. After these 3 games the next 3 games will be really really important and if we do well in those it will be crucial to do well in the 3 games proceeding those 3

If we have Toby and Lamela fit, and we play 3 centre halves with Rose and Walker pushing up wide, Wanyama and Winks DM with Eriksen AM and Kane up top, we will beat anyone. I honestly believe that. Lamela will add the urgency, the incisive forward passes which we habe been lacking of late.

So to answer your question @Mr Pink it depends on the personnel available.

I think the Southampton game will be tricky but we have a nice long break between now and then, so hopefully we'll have a fully fit and refreshed squad. My concern is that the games after that come thick and fast with Watford 4 days later, Chelsea 3 days after that, and Villa in the Cup only 4 days later. Poch will have to do some rotation and so I don't think we'll be able to play our best/preferred XI.

My heart says 7 points (win, win, draw) but realistically i could see it being 5 (win, draw, draw).

The good thing is that the teams around us seem to be hitting a rough patch of form just as we are coming out of ours, so I think we'll still be up there with the others after these fixtures.

If somebody punches Costa in the face I don't think the festive period can be considered anything but an unequivocal success :sneaky:
