Depth and area are irrelevant to curing time. Concrete has a "curing curve" (can't remember the proper term for it). Target strength is based on 28 days curing, but most structural mixes will hit approx. 70% of that after around 7 days.
Remember that curing is a chemical reaction, it isn't a drying process so depth, area etc are irrelevant, it all cures at pretty much the same rate.
The point I was trying to get at in my original question is whether the concrete would cure sufficiently during the day, if it were put down first thing in the morning, and it got down to zero the following night. Quite evidently, from the helpful comments you have made it won't. So, whilst my question might have been a bit daft, at least I have learnt something! Thanks for your patience.
