Everything is news today. He is a reporter so this is journalistic opinion and should be treated as such. BTW journalists are taught to be balanced with their reporting. Its idealistic but its part of the creed. So your opening statement is incorrect. It isn't always balanced, but it should be.

No they aren't. I'm a journalist by the way, having taken a practical journalism course. I now study journalism as an academic field. Balance literally doesn't exist, we were taught that in the first lecture.

And that piece is an opinion piece. It's not meant to be balanced. It's meant to be an opinion piece, and therefore will be opinionated.

...well I disagree. Opinion should be based on facts. I am fine with opinion per se. Its like assholes, every one has one. But I hate lazy opinionated pieces based on bullshit. That isn't opinion at all. Sorry I am a lawyer and I have big news companies I deal with as clients and adversaries. Balance comes up very often because balance usually relates to facts based opinion or reporting otherwise you get sued. My daughter is also a journalist and completing a degree at university. She'll tell you all about balance till the cows come home.

You can't really disagree. You said:

"BTW journalists are taught to be balanced with their reporting".

Someone who has gone through said training then replied:

"I'm a journalist by the way, having taken a practical journalism course. I now study journalism as an academic field. Balance literally doesn't exist, we were taught that in the first lecture."

As someone that works right next to the Media relations dept in a massive Plc, I completely disagree with you, because you are wrong.

Also, lots of Journalists have fuck all training.

I think you've misunderstood. The Irons are West Ham, who are paying £2m for The Olympic Stadium. Both Spurs and Chelsea are reported to have offered £15m for Wembley. So Wembley/The FA aren't favouring either club, it was just a comparison with the deal West Ham have negotiated for The Olympic Stadium and how, despite protestations, it appears West Ham have achieved a hugely favourable (and not at-all) commercial deal.

That makes more sense. The WHU deal is £2.5m I believe with a permanent veto on anyone else using it.

They haven't got a veto. They can complain if other uses of the stadium might possibly effect the pitch. This will then go to an independant advisor who will make the decision.
