They shouldn't be charging £45-50 for a membership when only 7000 tickets per game are going to be available to members.
There's a pretty good chance you could go a whole season as a member and not be able to get a ticket.
I don't buy into that. I've had a membership for about 5 years now, have managed to get a ticket for every game I've wanted to, with exception to 1 and that was last game at old WHL. I can't buy a ST because I don't have the time to be able to commit to 19+ games a season, but I do approx 10 across all comps each year which include most of the big cat A ones.

However if I don't manage to get one (like the finale) then yes i'll be disappointed, but I'm not going to blame the club for it.

You've mentioned this a number of times before; it sounds interesting.

I'm sure you've already got a post that explains the location, time to completion and potential profits generated from this phase of the development.

Any chance of linking to that post? Thanks.
Too much like guesswork at this stage. We still haven’t got detailed planning consent. We haven’t chosen a development partner. We don’t know what the state of the market will be when the first flats are available for sale.

What we can say is that the development ought to be profitable, because we already own the land. In a typical residential development in London, land would constitute 30% to 40% of cost and the developer would still be looking for a profit of 17% to 20% on costs.

Hotel, 'Premier Seats', halt time refreshments and ... wait for it ... match day programme
I used Thomas Cook for the Barcelona game, because I was going with a mate who's a non member, and I didn't dare to wait for the guest sale. I can tell you, 15 minutes goes fast when you're waiting in line for that free beer.

Whilst I understand that whatever system the club used would have left some people pissed off, I still think the first game at the new stadium should have been treated differently and done on a LP basis, like the last game at WHL was. It should be a reward to the most loyal supporters. Most people with enough historic points would have been offered a season ticket anyway, so it would have gone to members like my group, who can't afford or commit to a season ticket, but make a regular commitment to go about dozen times a year, rather than just signing up to a membership last week and getting the same chance. I thought, whilst not perfect, the way the club handled the final season at WHL was well done.

After next week, if you can't commit to a season ticket then you will just have to suck it up and put your fate in the hands of the donut of death, but to miss the first game in a new stadium for a team I have been going to see for 25 years is gutting.

Yes I'm gutted, but also a little bit pissed, as it was not through lack of trying that I didn't get one

I agree with this. I've been a member since Jol took charge and attended enough games to have qualified for the last 2 games at the old WHL, yet today is only the 3rd time I can remember where I've wanted to get a ticket for a home game and not been able to - the others were AC Milan in the 2010/11 Champs League and the Southampton home game at the end of the 2015/16 season. And even then, I eventually got one for the latter due to people returning tickets.

There was always going to be a huge peak in demand for the new stadium, and that may well last for the rest of this season and the start of next season, but in my experience a lot of members are pretty fairweather when it comes to attending the games. I have two Member mates (who I would have got tickets for today if I could) who hardly ever go, and hardly ever want to. But unsurprisingly when its Champs League, the NLD or an occasion like this they're fully on board whatever the cost. Category A games will always be hard to get - and rightly so in my opinion - but I'll be a bit surprised if next season I face the same difficulty getting a ticket for Crystal Palace at home (unless its the first or last game of the season) and Category B/C midweek fixtures in general.

Worth bearing in mind that Wembley turns over £350 million even with us taking up a seasons worth of home games there.

The earning potential for our stadium as a standalone business is huge and as the surrounding area/infrastructure becomes more developed we will increase the stadium activity.
Not trying to call you out specifically here - but this is how fake news gets started.

Wembley does not have £350M in turnover. The FA has £350M in turnover (in 2016/17).

When you look at the Financial Statements from the FA - you would see that the vast majority of that Turnover comes from Broadcast rights and sponsorship agreements.

From the Finacial Report: "Events held at Wembley stadium generated income of £49.4 million." This covered 32 events in 2016/17.

Guess so.
I don't buy the membership because at most I'm going to end up going to 2 games per season and £50 basically means my ticket costs £25 per match extra.
I'm happy to stay a non-member and run the gauntlet for a potential general sale for games next season, either that or one of the two NFL games.

They may as well do it as a lottery, like they did at the back end of the final season. The ticket queing system is random anyway, and I have wasted the best part of 2 mornings trying to get tickets. I even got in and watched as tickets I tried to select got sold to other people.

It does seem to be totally random , logged in yesterday on three different browsers , it was the browser I last logged in on that I got past the donut and eventually a ticket, could the browser make any difference, the one I got through on was Opera .

I understand the complaints that the website can be a **** a lot of the time. But what the fuck were people expecting? It's the first ever first team match at the new stadium...

I think that's a little bit naive/misunderstands the point.

We all expected/knew this game was gonna sell out. As will basically all our Home matches for the rest of this season. So no-one is surprised at that.

What people seem to be surprised/curious about is what the point of the memberships are/how the donut works.

Hotspur+ member tickets went on sale Monday but apparently only 1000 were available. They went on sale to all Hotspur members today (apparently around 6000 available) but no longer any priority to Hotspur+ members... so what really is the point of Hotspur+? Paying extra to get a very slight chance of getting tickets earlier? That seems a little poor from the club (and it probably was always a similar case but we're aware of it now).

Then it's the idea of the donut and the queue and if we're taking posters on this site at their word then there seems to be very little rhyme of reason for where you end up in the queue depending on when you log in to it and that the donut itself is unclear/doesn't let you know where you are in the queue.

And I've seen a couple of people mention that if you want a ticket you should 'Just get a season ticket' and I have to say that that is an insanely privileged viewpoint. Not everyone can do that. Both via season ticket waiting lists and money.

TLDR: We expected it to sell out quickly, duh. We just had forgotten/aren't impressed with the clubs ticketing system.

Listening to all this Donut talk has made me hungry, going out for a donut!

Ever had a dum dum donut? dude you havent lived

On a separate note, I feel sorry for fans who were unable to get tickets but conversely there are only so many tickets and even if based on loyalty points someone who has one less point will also moan...

I do hate the spurs ticketing software or website or whatever you want to call it - surely they could implement a more sophisticated and efficient system to go along with the BILLION DOLLAR STADIUM

Managed to get a ticket for the Palace game through the Thomas Cook packages.

£329 ... :wideyed:

Still less than my right bollock, which i would have quite happily traded :D

Who exactly would pay more than £329 for your right bollock? Just interested in what the market is like out there for that sort of trading... :wideyed:

It might be quicker, easier and cheaper to pick names out of a hat.
