Is there anything stopping you from crediting the real author in your post?

I come in from work, grab a cuppa, see it on youtube, link it, go do other stuff.

Is the author an SC member?

Which in construction or any project is only true at time of saying/printng. Like @davidmatzdorf says, no one but those close to the plans will have any idea. You are right in the sense that until someone says otherwise, that is the latest info and all we can, or should go by.

Its the same as saying you can't predict the future or the weather. We have a warm ish summer, but concrete is much harder to work with in winter because it needs to set properly, if it's too cold it sets weak and nobody wants to sit in an unsafe stadium. In practice that means you have to wait until conditions improve, and each day of delay knocks onto the next. Maybe another delivery is arriving, maybe that delivery is delayed by the same weather. When you are coordinating 20 lorries arriving you need to put them somewhere and all on the clock, if your site is a quagmire etc etc and so on.

Then there is incompetence. If you're laying electrical conduits and there's a mistake, 2 months to rip it out and start again depending on how far along they were. This happened at Wembley and they all did double time until Christmas to get it delivered on time - they didn't mind doing double but the project over ran and cost millions upon millions more.

they've said that is their intention, but never categorically. They've always left the door open to it being more than one year away.
They said a couple of weeks ago it is on track, so, as it stands, it will be open for next season.

Can someone point me to a site that shows how our retractable pitch will work based on the layout of the stadium. I know it will be in 3 parts but how does that work with what you are seeing on the construction videos????

Is there anything stopping anyone from clicking the youtube icon and finding out?

No I don't need to because I've seen it on SSC and the post above yours highlighted it was by EJG.
Just thought it would be courteous to ID the man, that's all.

Looks like in the new north stand they're starting to build the scaffolding for the roof. Look at the steel pieces at the bottom of the new terracing.

I agree with the poster who said there still looked to be a lot to be done, but until the missing terracing for instance, which has not made much progress lately, becomes the thing that stops the roof going up, then it is not yet important.
I imagine the South stand is currently the key factor on the critical path.

Of course there is a lot to be done, I just think he is underestimating the amount that can be achieved in one year.

For those saying it can't be done in a year, I think this week demonstrated the effort to get that done. It's clear that the construction plan is basically to build the north stand and the south stand separately. With seating, exterior curtain wall glass and finishings going up in the north, that end of the stadium project could be substantially complete in the next 4-6 months.

I also wouldn't be surprised for us to be open in August of 2018, but with south end concourse areas lacking final polish.

Do they still have the "onsite" concrete recycling/making machine plant thing kicking about locally or are they done with that now?

Ive just heard from someone in the industry that construction has slipped a few months and there is concern that it wont be ready in time and we may have to play away for 2 seasons. Something too do with being behind with the substructure works. (I'm being vague as I don't want to give too much away from where I heard it)

I thought most of the substructure was already done, maybe someone on here could confirm or not?

The only substructure completed recently was that of the South stand and that doesn't appear to have had any major delays. If this 'someone in the industry' isn't working on the project then I doubt they'd have any real insight as to where it is regarding the critical path.

It might have been started late... hard to know. The works may have taken the correct amount of time, but perhaps they were supposed to begin some time ago.

We knew a general timeline for the demolition of old white hart lane and they seemed to keep to that, and it's barely been more than 2 months since the season ended so there's no way that's 'slipped a few months'.

We're going to have this kind of rumour every week or two for the next year. Just ignore it. It's all bullshit. Even if it turns out to be correct, it was still bullshit. No one knows except Mace and THFC.
