So I think you're agreeing that it's not necessarily a must win

I think between now and the end of the season every game is a must win. We have to hope that Leicester drop more points in their must win games than we do. But the truth is Leicester are well and truly in command now. They win tomorrow and I can't see us finding a way back. I personally can't see us beating Chelsea away either.

Basically we have to keep fighting until the end of the season regardless, because we're also looking over our shoulder. But the league title is a massive ask.

Need Southampton to do us a huge favour tomorrow but even a defeat for Leicester isn't disasterous for them. They can basically afford to lose two games, probably three, and still win the title.

Coutinho belongs at a better club.
I've not seen walker turned inside out like that before.

England captain in the making.

To be fair, I would much rather he was captain than Wayne Rooney right now, let alone in a couple of years.
Yes you have a point, but with global sponsorship, big corporate interests and all that bollocks it won't happen for Euro16.

If I was a neutral I would have thoroughly enjoyed those 90 minutes. Proper good game of football. However, as a Spurs fan that was horrible. My heart couldn't take it, especially the last 15 or so.

So why did klopp run and hug Kane? I understand part of it but it's slightly strange at the same time. Kane looked very awkward from it as well

I wouldn't have been happy if poch had hugged coutiniho.

Good game and fair result on the balance of chances. Either team could easily have won. Two high quality goals.

That said we showed a lot more craft with the ball (they didn't have any sustained possession I can remember), and Coutinho aside I felt we looked to have more quality man for man.

The funny thing is the more this title race runs on - and despite it starting to get away from us - the more and more I'm convinced we're the real deal, and we'll be up there again next season, regardless of improvements elsewhere. Our club has transformed in the last few months.

At the time of replying to your post before games were played you said: "Going into the final three matches we can't afford to be anymore than 3pts behind IMO.". This is different from what you're now saying after the games played today that "every game is a must win".

Despite results not going our way today, all of our games are not necessarily must win, this is because it depends on how many points are rivals get in the coming fixtures.

After results today and if leicester win tomorrow, our games are tending to become more must win, that's because they would have gained points on us over the course of the weekends fixtures.

If we keep our best players (and Pochettino) this team will win the league at some point.

Never thought I'd see the day where our players are looking depressed, and our manager punches the turf in frustration, because we 'only' got a point at Anfield. It shows how far we've come.

With every Prem club set for a TV money lottery win, it's going to be harder than ever for clubs like United and Chelsea to solve their problems with a few cheques. There is real spirit in this team, and if we can keep it together we'll witness something special.

I predicted and am okay with a draw taking into our collective performances. I always thought this was going to be our hardest fixture for the run in, even harder than against Manu and Chelsea to come, where I believe we will win. So therefore I am not as despondent as some on here. I still feel very positive that we will get automatic place for the CL or better. A good Season, way above my expectations

Really hope we can keep Poch, I think thats the key, the players seem to love playing for him. I've got a nagging fear that he'll go (probably haunted by our recent past), he seems really ambitious, and the way he left the saints after building something showed this. I hope he can see that he can build what he wants and realise his ambitions at our club.

Nail, head... I think whatever happens from here till the end of the season (barring a hugely unlikely complete collapse), we can be so proud of this team and Pochettino & co. We have a very special manager who seems to have our notoriously difficult chairman's ear, and a wonderfully modest yet brilliant attitude coupled with an exceptionally exciting and hardworking philosophy to boot...

We have a brilliant young team; full of talent and potential as well as comaradery and a fantastic shared resilience and determination. They have given us so much this season and, if, just maybe, we can keep most of this lot together under this management, with a new stadium around the corner... Well, quite simply, anything is possible.

So, far from bemoaning getting 'only' a point at Anfield, I'm so thankful that a team like this has been assembled at my club, in my lifetime and I for one am extremely excited about this season, and the seasons to come.

When I made that post I'd actually completely forgotten about the new stadium. We're already looking like the sort of team we'd become with the extra revenue from the stadium. Worth mentioning that the new training ground looks like it is already paying dividends, as our players have never looked fitter or happier.

What a great time to be a Spurs fan!

I agree at times we were a little casual in possession at the back. The thing is that playing the ball around at the back is a very deliberate and very effective way of displacing the opposition and drawing them out. The trick is to invite pressure and once the opposition start closing, find a teammate who has been afforded space and can advance. It's a hallmark of most successful modern day teams, from Barca, Dortmund and Bayern all deploy a similar tactic, that's why the modern day CB has to be more than a bruiser. Yes you'll get the occasional fuck up but it's pretty fundamental to the way we play and why we tend to have the majority of the ball. Liverpool muted that by basically getting somebody to close both CB's very quickly, which ironically is exactly what we do to other sides.
I understand what the purpose is. But to keep trying the same thing and playing only one way when its obvious to anyone with any sense that its causing you problems and just a matter of time before you concede is frankly stupid imo.
Using 'how Barcelona play etc' as an example is not really relevant is it?
The idea to play around the edge of your own goal area in the hope to invite pressure so maybe, hopefully, you can break and hit on the counter has a bit of a flaw in its thinking wouldn't you agree?
I'd have thought the sensible and best way would be to mix it up a bit to confuse the opposition rather than inviting them to camp in our half of the pitch.
Lloris did boot it out a few times early on but that was it. Then he repeatedly threw it out to defenders who were facing the wrong way with a Liverpool player up their arse and could do fk all but pass it straight back or fk it up.
Not having a pop at you mate but as I said it does my head in and is idiotic.

If I were a Liverpool fan I would be pissed with that scorlline, they deserved to win in my opinion. Yes we made some chances, but we were poor and Liverpool's defence is woeful.

@This and subsequent posts: I haven't checked the final figures, but somewhere quite close to the final whistle Sky put up the total shots - Liverpool had 15, we had 14. We were the away team. I would say that in an average game the ratio of shots is usually something more like 2 to the home team to 1 to the away team.

I think you need to digest that. They aren't subbuteo figures - the oppos move and try to stop you playing and tackle and try and score and things. In point of fact, I thought Liverpool showed a tremendous amount of commitment and energy - more than I was expecting, TBH. So away to a half decent team who really made it difficult for us we more-or-less matched them for shots. Both sides also created dangerous situations that weren't capitalized on - I think we shaded Liverpool with them.

Liverpool no more deserved to win than we did, and I can only assume that it is your disappointment that made you say that we were poor, because we certainly weren't. I felt that some of our players, particularly Alli, looked a bit tired, but that isn't being poor (yeah, thanks stupid International Break). Give the lads some credit, they fought hard and created a fair amount. And give some credit to the Mickey's, too, eh (y)
