I remember Bentley playing at RB once against Aston Villa, but that's about it. He certainly didn't play there enough for it to make any difference to his record.

Also at Hull in the 08/09 season before Ramos was sacked. There were more than a few occasions, and he seemed to be the scapegoat for the problems at that time.

No one mention Richards?

Bent we eventually made a profit on and he scored a few goals, so not on the list for me. Bently is though. Bobby unfortunately because I think there is a good player in there. Hopefully can get something back for him. Pauly a waste. Still waiting for Lamela to turn up from Roma. Heard he's quite good.

Good call. Also there's a few other potential candidates....

Zokora (£8m!)
Hutton (£9m!)
Andy Reid?
Ben Thatcher?
Chris Perry?

Maybe Palacios and Corluka? Postiga cost almost the same as Keane in the same season we bought him...

Shudders.

If we put him up for sale today at his "market value" would he go to a bigger club than us or a smaller one??

Well I certainly don't think any better teams in England would want him.
He isn't any better than what they already have.
However I still think Eriksen will get better as a player but as I said previously he isn't quite there yet.

But PSG, who just knocked the best team in England out of the Champions League, do.

IMO Palacios was great in his first season. Could do with that type of player now to stop us coughing up possession and haemorrhaging goals all over the place. Corluka was a solid player too, albeit a very slow one.

I'm not sure he justified his value at that time, though, in the overall transfer

It seemed that after they found his brother he dropped off.

palacios and corluka both contributed a hell of a lot more than what soldado has.

They're judged in different ways (strikers to midfielders), but even if you took Soldado's pens alone then he won us a good amount of points under AVB.

Palacios had 1 goal and 2 assists in 86 games, and he wasn't a modric or a parker, so it's hard to actually pinpoint what he did contribute compared to any other signing.

As I recall, he shored up a featherweight midfield into a pretty robust unit pretty much single-handed.

Are you? He probably had one good season - He was a cross between Dembele and Adebayor.

i'm 67% sure this is a wind up but i'll bite anyway.

you've given me goal and assist stats for a defensive midfielder and compared them to a striker(and i use that term loosely), are you serious? palacios came in and single handedly transformed a powder puff midfield, for 18 months he was a vital part of a team that went on to achieve champions league football and he put in one of the greatest individual performances i've seen from a spurs player away to milan ... and your rebuttal against that is that he had fewer goals and assists :ROFLMAO:

I'm showing you how saying Soldado has contributed less is flawed. A player is part of a team and it's not a game any more where the front men score goals, the middle provide and the back prevent them. Every player, especially in an intricate system like Poch has, contributes something more than the traditional.

People judge Soldado by goals but ignore everything else he does. You're implying he's contributed nothing, but I'll bet you're only looking at goals.

because he has contributed nothing in the grand scheme of things, what has he brought to thfc? palacios and corluka were key components that helped move the club forward, soldado has been an utterly tragic signing no matter which way you want to spin it. you can't tell me it's unfair to only judge soldado on goals and then tell me he's better than palacios because he scored more.

Yawn indeed, since Levy took over which other English club of a similar stature at that time have done better then us? City and Chelski don't count.
Why dont City or Chelsea count ? Is it because they have rich owners like us ? But rich owners who put success above profit.
Talk about moving the fucking goalposts to back up your argument.
