Well, the rumours were that Lassana Diarra asked for £90k a week, Fat Sam said "Yes", and Ashley said, "On yer bike, Allardyce, we're already paying £50k a week to Smith, Geremi & Butt. Why do we even need another C/DM? And who needs a manager? Get lost. I'm bringing in the Messiah!"

The City hates Ashley because his accounting is very, um, creative. Or perhaps incompetent. He didn't bother properly auditing the Newcastle books when he took over which is why he had to cough up that extra £75 million.

Even though I hate them, it's such a shame that effort from Martins didn't go in, that was unbelievable Jeff!! Near broke the crossbar.

The slide continues though, Reading go above them today if scores stay the same.

That Torres/Gerrard partnership is looking lethal at the minute.

If Liverpool had another top class striker they'd probably be serious title challengers. At the moment they're so reliant on Torres getting the goals it's unbelievable.

Newcastle's current form is LDLLLL.

That is really shit. But the sad part of it is that there are worse teams than them in the league and that will probably save them. As one of the lads in the studio said it will probably be big Sam's points that will keep them in the league cause Keegan isn't doing fcuk all for them.

Unfortunately, if the Score 'experts' are correct, Newcastle's remaining home games are all against teams they should beat. So if they can pull out of this slump they have a relatively good run in.

Still, we can always hope

Chelsea?

Fulham, Reading and Sunderland are all going to be scrapping desperately for points, too.

And if GD comes into it, only Derby's is worse. In fact, Newcastle have now let in only one goal fewer than Derby.

As I said, it was the Score 'experts', Misters Crooks, Pallister and Peacock that were saying it. Of course, no games will be easy.

Their GD is a joke.

And that single 'D' was Boro at home when Downing and Lee Dong Gook missed absolute sitters at the end. Should really be LLLLLL.

I only saw the 1st half and while pools opener was jammier than some jammy jam, Newcastle were rubbish at the back. And when I say rubbish, I would honestly say that they're the worst I've ever seen in the Premier League. Worse actually than the sides that I used to watch play Brighton in the 3rd Division.

Worse than Derby?

Worse than the Sunderland side that got 15 points?

They really are bad, but I'd say that there are two PL sides who have been worse.

Fair point. Trust me to go all hyperbolic.

In fairness, I've not watched any of the 3 hugely closely. The odd game here and there and just about all the goals conceded and highlights. I would say the 3 are actually comparable. Which is horrifying given how much has been spent on Newcastle's side. If you compare worst value defences (if such a thing is possible) then they would eclipse even those 2 horror-shows.

I wonder how long it will take Mike Ashley (& his mate Kemsley) to understand the concept of false messiah...

If the disciples are really not inspired by King Kev's sermons, then there's really no point having him around. Which would mean Newcastle's Director of Football taking over....

Uh, Dennis Wise. :rofl::rofl::rofl:

Oh to be a geordie....

Don't knock Wise just yet, him and Poyet did very well at Leeds and they only collapsed after Wise left.

The wheels started to fall off when Poyet left. Wise was clever enough to see what was about to happen and jumped ship before it all went to rat shit.
