I was getting excited seeing this moved but seems there’s nothing new past Ben the other day. Same bracket as Dusan and Chiesa… ain’t gonna happen

Lautaro Martinez seems like he should be the outstanding candidate, to me. Still young. Fantastic goal scoring record. Good at pressing, which fits Ange's style. And yet there are no serious links to him. It might be very hard to convince him, given our lack of European football, and he would cost most to all of what we've recieved for Kane. Both of which make the move unlikely. But he'd definitely be worth it. If we wanted to make a statement signing and seriously push to be competitive, he would be the one to go for.

He seems really great but he's never really impressed me when I've seen him play. Not that I know anything but just saying what I see

He has looked less than impressive every time I have seen him; absolutely woeful at the World Cup and had a really bad miss in the CL Final; if I remember correctly.

I like him alot, but I just feel he's too similar to Richarlison in terms of style. A bruiser type of CF with not the best of finishing abilities. He just edges it on the dribbling side of things, other then that we definitely shouldn't spend a huge chunk on him and go for someone with a slightly different profile than Richi.

I try to be a reasonable person but that horrific headed miss combined with his hair makes me place him last of players I'd want us to sign. Not last of those we are linked to. Last of all professional players.

Inter are one of the worst teams to deal with when it comes to transfers.
there is no way we are signing him after the previous approaches for their players

Tbh it goes both ways with them, so many deals have fallen through for them this summer. Fact is they have very little money to buy players but still want to try and compete for good players. I think it’s only a matter of time before they sell z Lautaro but I don’t think it will be this summer and it won’t be to us.

Straight swap for Tanganga, who they seem to have been linked with for some reason. Easy. 😂

Weirdly I remember a couple of years ago being strongly linked with Martinez when we were in the ground for Spurs v Newcastle at the start of the season, to the point where Paratici was being mobbed by fans before the game asking him about him. And here we are again, first game of the season at home and being linked with him. Didn’t believe it then, don’t believe it now.

Big fan. Lautaro is very good in the build up phase, can run beyond the defensive line and can play in a lone striker role (Argentina) or in a partnership (Inter). He's a fantastic, versatile forward that scores goals (21, 21, 17 in the last 3 seasons playing with a strike partner for Inter). The high profile misses have cast a shadow on his talent, but it's undeniable imo.

Almost zero chance this happens though.

i just don't get excited by the prospect of this lad. Only seem him a handful of times but Ive never been overly impressed. Sure he's pretty good, but with Richy and Son at the club I'd prefer a younger prospect who offers the possibility of greatness and pure excitement. It seems he's kind of at his limits so doesn't offer that 'what if'.

I know he's still relatively young, but I'm still a bit meh about him as a striker

I’m not convinced by him but we need another striker. We’ve been spoilt for years with Kane.

Agree, no idea why so many question his ability. Probably because they just haven’t seen much of him I guess. He might not be perfect but he’s certainly one of the top 10 centre forwards in the world without doubt imo. And he’s getting better and better.

Like you say he’s inters captain and there’s no chance this happens now but it would be a phenomenal signing if it hypothetically happened. Which it won’t.

He is a very good player no doubt but not entirely sure he is is best suited to the strikers role in this system. Only a couple of games but remember a CL tie he played against Liverpool and although he did score a blinder from outside the box, the one thing that stood out for me was that he seemed to really struggle with the physicality of the Liverpool CB's and they seemed to snuff him out the game fairly easily in both games. Was definitely game, mobile and tried hard but didn't seem to have that same level of core strength someone like his countryman Aguero had.

Agreed. Another player people say no to who would turn us down anyway
