tough. keanes skill is amazing but with berbs, he glides and still is amazing. something about effortless skill really is outstanding.

That's what I thought, be interesting to see the outcome though, considering the stick that Berbatov gets, and the amount of fans that say good riddance if he wants out. When it comes down to it, he's a far superior player.

How could you say that Keane is a BETTER player than Berbatov. That question is sort of like who is the better midfielder, Nolan or Gerrard...

I find the stick Keane gets from some people an irritation mainly because we are all so quick to demand loyalty from our players, but hypocritically refuse to give any loyalty in return. Remember this is a player who not so long ago scored the goals that kept us up, that was one of the few players at the start of this season that actually appeared to be trying. Berba is the better player for sure, but we need players like Keane just as much in my opinion.

I struggle to see how this is me dishing out stick to anyone? All I have done is pose a question as to which player is better than the other. As I said there was a similar thread on FTL, and I thought it would be interesting to see the outcome here, on a typically more pro Keane board. Its not a dig at anyone, yet because I have stood up and said when Keane underperforms, its assumed that I have some sort of agenda.
This isn't a defending Berbatov thing either, his talent speaks for itself. I just want to know what the people of SC think on the matter :shrug:

I think it's definitely linked to the fact that you tend to give stick to Keane, and not just when he underperforms. I remember your post suggesting it would be good if Keane got injured as we would then be forced to play someone else.
Not that I'm trying to second guess your motives in posting this poll of course :razz:

This wasn't intended a Keane debate. I don't disagree that Keane is still an important player, and he's definitely a very good player. Just because a player is loyal though, doesn't mean they are immune from questionning when they underperform does it? Also I guess you are trying to say that berbatov wasn't trying at the beginning of the season? If so could we not say the same about Keane now?

Berbatov is by far the better player, but is he the best for Tottenham is another question altogether.
And on another point, was Nicdic trying to compare the two best players at Tottenham, if so he got one of the personnel wrong!!

The better player is Berbatov, but Keane is a Yiddo and will still knocking goals in for us next season.

if I ever said I wished Keane injured that was a joke, I do however remember when he was suspended being thankful for it, because it meant Bent could get a chance. Unlike some posters with certain players, I will only say keane was poor if I think he's underperformed.
