The only problem with that argument is that Bong and Taarabt are transparently not ready; accepted SC wisdom appears to be that, although Kaboul has a long way to go, he's at least as good now as Dawson. You would, therefore, expect him to have been on the bench more than once in eight games.

I don't have any problem with the kid whatsoever; he's looked a good prospect. Nor do I have any great allegiance to Dawson, except that, like Lennon, he got wildly overrated in his first full season and is now getting more stick than he deserves. But if Ramos is sorting out his squad for next season, and current selections are any indication as to who's in favour and who isn't, then you've got to conclude that he sees more in Dawson.

Def agree with that. If that were the case we will be seeing wholesale changes in the summer. Out Lee, Rocha, Pooteng, Taarabt, Kaboul, Tainio, Gardner, Ghaly, Stalty.

You're may be right (in fact, you're probably right), but I think that Kaboul is/was clearly not ready as well...the fact that he has not featured doesn't exactly mean that he is on the outs, regardless of what his agent has said. I think that his situation is pretty much the same as KPB and Taarabt, except that we have had a severe shortage of defenders due to injuries, etc, and he was forced into service. So its not as if he's been dropped per se, its more like he has returned to his initial role as developing young player...at lest that's one way of looking at it. :)

I should think that Daws would be sold before Kaboul if we need money, especially if another 1st team CB comes in--if, for instance, Garay comes and Woody stays fit then Daws is the odd man out IMO.

i really, really hope he stays, he should be 3rd choice at the moment, behind King and Woodgate, I rate him above Dawson because he seems to have a bit more about him on the ball, although that can sometimes cause him trouble.

He looks an awesome prospect, and he can stay as back up as he can play DM, and seemingly to him, up front, as well. He's good in the air, strong, reasonably quick (er than Dawson) and good on the ball, all the makings of a top class centre half. But ball-playing centre halfs only seem to come good after a few years, as they make too many mistakes as youngsters. e.g. Ledley King.

I've seen more improvemnt in Kaboul within the space of 8 months than I've seen in Thud and Dawson over the last 4 years.

If we want to play the Tottenham way and play the ball out of defence, Kaboul will be the one as Dawson is more boot than skills.

Given the shit that playing the ball out of defence has been apt to get us into on all too many occasions, I'm in favour of an almighty boot into touch.

Really? You were avidly watching Forest and Derby four years ago?
