We should deffo keep him for another season. There is no doubt that his potential is huge. Dont forget that he was thrown into the first team maybe abit to early this season. And despite for the errors he started off with he kept playing cause we had noone else to play, making him do more errors and lose confident.

Give him a preseason with Ramos and he will come strong next season.

Wow! Looks like most of us wanna keep Kaboul which is great.
He has great potential and if anything should be given more opportunities alongside Woodgate.
I like the guy.

totally agree mate. Would dawson be a good back-up though? I reakon gardner etc will be on thier way.

If diarra comes in, we will be solid at the back with an awesome amour

Yep i agree too he has great potential. Sure he's made a few gaffs this season but he's had some good games too. The CC Game at Man City stands out i thought he was excellent in that game.

I'm sure playing alongside Woodgate or King rather than Dawson would help him develop into a better player too

I'm a little concerned that Ramos is a little risk adverse when playing his youngsters. I was hoping to see more of Kaboul, Taarabt and Gunter. It appears that he is unprepared to take any sort of risk, in case this may back fie. My view is that these three can do worse than Zokora (C.B), Malbranque and O'Hara.

I know it's too early to judge Ramos, but he needs an impressive start next year, or the doubt's will start to multiple at a vast speed of knots.

i think with the few gaffs he has made, will make him even better. Ramos will sort him out, hope he stays, he is on the back of my shirt!

He is a good goalscorer too!

he's got shitload of potential. Annoyingly he's the type of player Wenger could turn into one of the best in the league

I think Kaboul has a lot of talent, and the potential to be a great centre back.

I think he should stay, bide his time a bit, as in my opinion, he's a lot better than Dawson.

said this reply in the Wigan rating thread, rather than post about Kaboul again, decided just to copy it as it fits here now his agent has come out and said something similar to what I was thinking already :

yeah, thats the trouble though when you play not one, but two players out of position at the back, we were just asking for a goal like that to happen

I know it may not be liked, but Ramos has to take blame for that, it is not like we have not got any other fit CD's or LB'S to pick from, playing people out of position at the back should be a last option. I can imagine how the likes of Kaboul, Rocha, Lee and Gilberto would feel about having midfielders played in their natural positions, I would be starting to think I have no future under this manager if he has that low a confidence in me

As I said though, even though they were at fault, I will not criticise them as they shouldn't have been played there in the first place. If O'Hara is going to be played, he should be played at LM, in place of an out of form Steed and IMO Kaboul has the potential to be a top defender and needs games, he should have played ( if fit ), he is young, still adapting to the EPL and still has time to improve just like Lennon with his final ball. Kaboul is only 22, defenders do not reach their prime that young

I really hope Ramos hasn't already judged Kaboul, he should be starting the last three games to get more experience in games that have little meaning, I can't see why not, unless he is injured

just want to add though, I think he has the potential to be a better CD than Dawson

or is ramos playing the midfielders in defence to annoy them? thus to sell them easier.

Its not exactly a great selling technique mind you

Ramos clearly prefers Dawson. If we sign another CB in the summer, that's Kaboul on his way, I suspect—as long as we can make our money back.

What makes you think Ramos prefers Dawson '57?
I wasn't aware of an injury but someone on here has said that's the case so that may be why he's not playing him.

Keep hold of both of them I say. Daws has been immense and will be immense again under Ledders and Woodys tutelage (sp). Be patient. Daws is still only a youngster as well.

Kaboul was crucial coming on against Chelsea in the CC Final. I was worried, as I'm sure many were, that we would be inviting too much pressure, but Kaboul dealt brilliantly with everything thrown at him.

Totally agree mate, although a little bit off pooh came out when he stopped b4 i heard the final whistle!!! lol...

But seriously, he can learn from Woddy and Ledders and he's gonna be awesome, so much power, but he needs to think quicker, i'd be tempted to play him midfield to get upto pace, as we did Ledders, it'll help his game out no end, and losing the ball may not be so costly there.

Er, the fact that he's consistently preferred him for some time now?

Kaboul hasn't even been on the bench since we beat Pompey, and last started in the disaster against Brum, for which Dawson was suspended, I seem to recall.

That'll teach him to get caught woofing a burger.
