Boehly and I share an alma mater, but he has clearly done more with his education than I have with mine.
Don't be so hard on yourself. For all his millions billions, Boehly is not a trusted and valued member of Spurs Community.

Personally I can’t criticise the club for not matching what is completely insane and epitomises everything that is screwed up about this sport

I don’t think we expect to match it we are just fed up of it other clubs doing what’s required and pushing the boat out on big players.

It isn't an excuse, it's football. Imagine you and I both happen to run similar businesses equally well and then I win the Euromillions one day. I decide to poach your entire staff, the talent you want to hire to replace the staff I've just poached, buy better offices, better equipment and then expand globally... how can you stop me? The answer is you can't. You've done absolutely nothing wrong and yet you've still lost. Your only hope is that you too can win the Euromillions, but you can't plan or strategise for that, just hope and pray.

The blame isn't on you in the way it isn't on ENIC or Levy or anyone, it's on football. It's a reflection of society and we live in a highly unregulated capitalist society. Unfortunately, football is unique in that we're so wedded to our club that we refuse to acknowledge how broken it all is because we can't give it up, so we lie to ourselves every year that maybe it'll be different because football without hope is nothing, then shit like this happens and we all come crashing back down to earth again because we're reminded of how fucked the system is.

It's the fault of FIFA, UEFA, the FA etc for welcoming these people into the sport and also the media for enabling it via a lack of public criticism because, not only do we as fans have to suffer, we have to watch pundits on Sky and BT wank themselves silly every week while state-owned football clubs owned by racists and homophobes pump illegally gotten billions (acquired at huge cost to ordinary people) to buy toys that are shinier and prettier than ours while we get ridiculed for being Spursy (whatever the fuck that means) even though we've done everything by the book.

It's fucking infuriating but I've accepted it and I choose to live in hope despite it all because I love my club and I'd rather watch us in this broken corrupt system than not at all because in and amongst all of it there are still moments that bring me joy like nothing else really can.
Cheers dude, thats exactly my opinion as well but would be never able to put it in words like that.

I just want to add that 5 years ago I would meltdown as well but I just don't anymore. I've accepted things they are. Have more important things in my live, and I just dont get emotional about those staff anymore. But I still get emotional when I watch us play. I jumo when we score a goal and I watch every game. I'm really glad that we are building club in our own way which looks like a normal way to grow. No Saudi owners, no Russian oligarchs, no Glazers. It is unique. We dont win as much as them but we were in enough finals and semi finals in recent years to put something to cabinet. Dont blame everyrhing on money.

As long as we do all we can I'm fine to be in the second row. We have one of the best manager in the world, best stadium. Chelsea buying some player most of us havent heard about 2 months ago wont change that. I'm sure we will win something soon and it will be fucking awesome. Maybe chelsea will win more by that timw but I dont care, as I said I'm too old probalby for that crazy shit.

So yeah, fuck chelsea and COYS!

This deal, along with Man U with Anthony and the like, are the reason European clubs all try to fleece the English clubs.
They know they can ask the earth and someone (usually one of these 2 aforementioned clubs) will be stupid/desperate enough to pay it.

As much as I dislike City and Newcastle, at least they tend to be more sensible and not so eager to over-pay.
Chelsea and United are they main culprits for ruining the market for the rest of us, with their stupid prices and wages.

I hope people dont get their hopes up with Bastoni joining us either. Unless you go out and spend silly money you dont get these type of players anymore - when they are being watched by lots of top clubs.

As much as its made out that Boehly is going all scatter gun, he is actually building a decent squad. Their transfers are all very decent and actually cover lots of their weaknesses. They just need a striker now.

Well there goes a potential target for next summers window. This just makes the 'if we can't get our top targets this summer no point buying for the sake of it' and 'keeping our powder dry for when our targets are available' lines people like to band about while applauding oura business even more ridiculous. Poch wanted de jong and de ligt got neither bought no one and both went on to go elsewhere. Why wait for players we have no chance of getting. Next summer city Liverpool Chelsea and United will all go again and we will again miss out on targets. We have spent 115m (if you include romero fee this window which is ridiculous) and we jad an injection of 150m. We've spent less than West Ham who had no cash injection. Make it make sense.

It doesn't and it won't. They are keeping us chasing our tails and we all deep down inside know it.

Did you already forget that we moved on Lenglet after Bastoni was deemed “impossible?”

Also I think it’s pretty well know that Poch was pretty stubborn with the players he wanted, so after neither of those players came, who knows who we might had had a chance to sign instead of them.

There's always a next breakout talent that we're all dribbling over. Lacroix last season, wasn't it? Our season/future didn't implode when we didn't sign him either.
The doom-mongers will not appreciate your logic! Delete your post and run before they stone you for your pragmatism!

How many truly believed that we would get him next summer? It was extremely unlikely. If not Chelsea now, then City then, or one of the other huge spenders.

Some say occurrences like this are why we'll never win the league, yet with all of Chelsea's spending, we've been doing very well compared to them since Conte joined.

I ain't angry cause this was expected. We'll get decent players in the future like we did during this window.

I'll never applaud what City and Chelsea do.

I'd rather build the way we do, with clear foundations and structures in place.

It's just grotesque...let Chelsea do what they do.

When we do win something under Conte (and we will) its a million times sweeter than all the hollow cheat mode trophies they've picked up.

I am not even bothered about Gvardiol. What Chelsea and United are doing is madness. Do you really think Gvardiol is so much better than Lenglet?

Man City and Liverpool prove that there are sensible deals out there available, just not always.

I’d never replace our situation with Celseas or United.

The entire setup at Spurs is great (Conte, Paratici, Levy, coachess,..) so lets trust them and enjoy this process.

Future is bright, lillywhite!
