Chrissy Hughton - he's Spurs and may soon be available. So no compensation to Norwich. What's not to like?

I hear he's been working on a 0-0-10 formation. We could win every game 11-10.
Nice. Or sod it, even losing every game 6-2 or 8-5 would even do me. I just miss the excitement. Ya know. Obviously, without the results I'd get on his back after 3 months. Nup. Only when we're playing and winning on a level of Barca circa 2010 week in and week out will I keep my powder dry. I'll not be happy you understand, so demanding are my standards of everyone and everything except myself, but I'll refrain from criticising any of them in public at least.

I don't think that's unfair.

Popeye Doyle as Head Coach, Ned Flanders as assistant!

Seriously, though, what were folk saying after 10 games last season?

I really like what Pochettino has done at Southampton and is testament to his coaching ability as he's clearly overcoming the language barrier well, unlike Juande.

Nevertheless, I'm still very much in support of Andre and deserves to be given time and more pertinently, I still believe we will be successful with him at the helm.

Questionable decisions, yes, but let's judge him at the end of the season.

Levy should just hire Zeman if people want goals, plus he knows Lamela. Results will be shit, but very fun to watch. Totally worth it. Just ask any Roma fan.

When we let Redknapp go (& I was one of those who thoroughly approved of that decision) I wanted Martinez to replace him with AVB my 2nd choice. All I wanted was an intelligent manager who was willing to change direction when things obviously weren't working rather than sticking stubbornly to the same old formula.

I'm happy with what AVB has achieved so far. I must admit I was glad when we didn't purchase some of AVB's rumoured transfer targets but I still rate him as a coach. He must take some credit for turning Bale into a world class profit ;) and he does seem to learn lessons from his msitaeks  . I wouldn't swap Martinez for him now but hypothetically if he did leave Martinez would still be my choice to replace him (i'm assuming the like of Jurgen Klopp wouldn't want the job).

Lets judge AVB at the end of the season
This season? What the whole season?

We went so far under Jol, further than we've ever been before under Harry and now we're clearly building something special under AVB. If just for a change, we actually backed the man in charge to stay and do the job, if we just for a change accepted that it's a process that is going to take time to achieve then, THEN we might actually accomplish something.

After such a big turnover of players in the summer I think we're not doing too badly at all. Yes we could be more 'free flowing' or the style could be a bit more pleasing on the eye, but that'll come eventually. I think that slowly but surely, the whole aura around (or perception of) the club is improving. There will still be setbacks and we need to accept that.

After 20 fucking years of chopping and changing it's about time we actually stuck by a manager for an extended period of time instead of this eternal search for the man who will magically produce the formula we're looking for at the drop of a hat.

I'm in a rush in and out of the office at the moment so this is hurried, but i'll be back later to throw in a mum joke or reference to dogging.

stop joking and think serious about who could really replace AVB. I think that Laudrup will not achieve Swansea goals this season and he might be the next target (of course, only if AVB fails)

God you make me so hard. Dirty dirty. Naughty little minx!

I'd give AVB 3 seasons and that's with a settled squad. Just changing the system so radically takes time etc. Throw in a complete overhaul of the squad in a little over a yr and yeah, time and patience is needed. He's made it look too easy I think.

The great thing for me is that we're probably running at about 40% or our potential right now but the mentality of the club has changed so quickly and that's standing us in good stead already.

Who knows if it'll ever click but he needs until the end of the next season for me. No signs of improvement and he'll be in trouble, imo, and not with us but with DL et al. Of course, by the end of the 2014/2015 season we'll be comfortably top 3 and likely have a trophy or two in the cabinet if we stick with him.

I don't want AVB out, far from it, but if he ever does leave I'd happily take Laudrup as his replacement.
