Is that a fact yeah?

I would say its absolutely unbelievable that people are writing off a player after one game, let alone someone who's got over 20 caps for Brasil, but then again, this is Spurs Community, so I'd expect nothing less.

jj87 - a little harsh. They're sending the Brazilian LB off to a retirement home for crap footballers after half a game for Spurs. That'a a full 45 minutes... :eek:mg:

Wasn't great untill the goal, but he took it really well. Hopefully it's a boost of confidence for him now.

Good goal, will do wonders for him.

Same goes for Bent btw. One injury time header and I'm guessing his confidence will rise a lot.

That Huddlestone chap was shit today, he'll never be able to take us to the next level. After all, isn't he like 28? should be in his prime by now.

Great goal by Gilberto today. But he still worries me, looks very slow, and made some bad passes straight to West Ham players. But I believe he could be a good signing, when he gets his match fitness up and learns the English game.

Here come the Gilberto lovers

I thought he did ok Thursday personally and I'll have to make my full judgement on todays game after I watch Football First! Goal looked good though.

He looked more comfortable at LM then LB. He took the goal great as was said. Which shouldn't be looked on lightly. Steed took a lot of shots today and just couldn't hit the target.

nerves

I'd shit myself if I'd made the error he did on Thursday.

fair play to him, he gained a little more confidence as time went on and it was good to see a lefty on that flank for a change

I think he made one of the worst debutes Ive seen, he was good for about 15mins in. I do belive however we should give him time. But in honesty, when we brought him I didnt expect much of him and I still retain that view. I will however be delighted if he turns out to be a class act

I am glad to say that his second preformance in a spurs shirt was much better he still worries me tho'

As I said previously, thought he'd offer us a lot going forward. Glad to see him popping up with a goal, the best remedy. I don't get this 'he's slow' stuff, I must be watching another game. He's hardly sodding Andy Reid is he? For a 32-year-old, I think he's reasonably pacey

That was a very sweet left-footed strike by Gilberto - a regular Brazilian international who we signed for wages and some loose change.

According to several ITK accounts, we've come mighty close in recent seasons to signing Luis Boa Morte to play on the left side of our midfield. Luckily, those Spammers and their Icelandic mafioso owners signed "Boa" for £5 million plus the usual silly Spamhead wages.

I'm very happy with how it turned out.

Apart from his goal, he again looked pants. He was unable to out run Neil, he gave the ball away again in dangerous areas and his crossing was poor.

He took his goal well though.

Ohh yeah, one thing I forgot to ask, were the WHL boo-boys booing Gilberto when he first came on? I thought they might have been saying 'STEEEEEEEEED!', but then as soon as Gilberto touched it, I heard it again.

Bastards, if they were.

That is the sort of goal which seems to be a trademark of Brazilian fullbacks, though he was in a mid-field role today.

Seriously, do you have some vendetta against this bloke? Give him some time geez. He was coming back from a poor debut, is still injured, the guy deserves credit for bouncing back. Really don't get you

Well done Ramos on giving him some time, will have done his confidence a lot of good

Any striker would have been happy with that finish, he gave us some balance and from what I've seen of him which is still less than 90 minutes, I think he's got more in the tank.

Some Spurs fans have no patience and are just embarassing in how quickly they will judge and turn on a player.

I can't believe some of you lot! Sure he looks a bit off the pace at the moment, but this was his first Premiership game on the back of one unfortunate half midweek.

Give the guy some time for fucks sake, and don't be like the idiots at Arsenal who used to boo Pires and Henry when they took time to settle, or even the Spurs fans who used to boo Waddle at first.

To anyone who did boo Gilberto today (and they did, right from the first team reading), please explain what you're trying to achieve by doing so - it makes no sense in any way.
