Think we still need another CB and probably a CM. Vlhovic Orban and Kudos alone would take more than we got from Kane.

I think one overlooked part of the Kane deal though might have been the structure where it looks like Levy got most of the money up front and not over years. That flexibility could help stretch our budget this year - so more deals can be paid off in later years.
I agree we need another CB but I think we’ve signed our one and only top/potential top CB in VDV, I think we’ll be looking at a cheaper option now personally, would like to be pleasantly surprised though. CM I think we’re alright tbh, especially if PEH stays because as much as I don’t rate him as a top CM he’s as reliable as they come and a CM group of Bissouma, PEH, Skipp, Sarr, Gio, Maddison and Bentancur when he’s back should be fine IMO.

Kudus, Vlahovic and Orban would cost more than the Kane fee but I’m going with that with the info that Orban is supposedly a target independent to Kane staying or going. Kudus and Vlahovic would be pretty much bang on the £110m we’re getting for Kane 🤷‍♂️

Man this kid looks like the could be something special. He's a punt for sure..but something about the way he moves a bit like aguero and strikes a ball is so similar to defoe.

Based on the ITK from WLB the 2 Juve targets could be a nice surprise. I'm hoping it could be Chiesa over Kudus personally, if there is even a small chance of it. Wouldn't surprise me if it's a double deal for Bremer and Chiesa. 2 positions of need but would definitely be expensive to do.

But Orban has to be one we do for sure.

This guy and presuming the new ITK relates to Bremer and Chiesa then that is us done for incomings if we can get those 3 over the line.

Easy...

Vicario/Forster
Emerson/Porro Romero/Bremer/VDV Udogie/VDV/Davies (4th choice CB maybe Dier, Dav or Phillips)
Bissouma/Hoijberg/Skipp
Hoijberg/Sarr/Skipp/Bissouma
Maddison/GLC
Kulu/Soloman
Chiesa/Peresic (the wingers and Son and Rich can interchange)
Rich/Son/Orban

And we win the league, that would be the best squad of players (by a country mile) that we have had in my lifetime. Our first 11 was cracking under Poch, but our squad was terrible.

Could very well be right but I think that one of them might just be Vlahovic.

I’d be over the moon with any two of Bremer, Chiesa and Vlahovic. Not that I think it’d happen in any way. 😄

Yeah this is Spurs after all. It's too perfect to add any of those to our squad. It would actually make us very strong. But it won't happen. However if it did, that would be some statement.

a slight issue with Orban, Kudus is that along with Bissouma, Sarr they would off to the African Nations in January for a period of time, and also think Son may have an Asian Cup tournament? - that's a fair bit of the season to be missing 5 players..

You’d think Bremer is definitely one. He’s another CAA Base client.
Bremer would be a disaster in this system. He's on old school defender and is great at that, but is limited by his pace and skill on the ball. Trying to play a high line and play out from the back with him just wouldn't work. We need to be looking at the kid from Benfica or someone along those lines.

Cheers for the update on Bremer - I cant say I’ve seen him play and so that summary rings alarm bells. I just hope Mckennie isn’t one of the two as I really don’t rate him but Paratici seems to have a hard-on for him for some reason. Chiesa would be a dream signing!

Sorry to disappoint you mate, but this fella is a clown and should be blocked by all spurs fans.

Have a look at his description of Alejo Veliz analysis and you'll realise he's a troll who's making up sensationalist stuff about all spurs news. Whether it's to build a following or as a piss take, I dont know, but he's 100% pedalling shit.

Sidenote: Gift Orban does really seem quite exciting though.

He's a fucking clown. Symptomatic of a generation who value clout over authentic information and facts. he's growing his page with gullible spurs fans so fair play to him

It’s hard to think who else we’d want
The obvious two others are chiesa and vlahovic but aside from that I’m not sure that juventus squad is that great.
it’s unlikely we’d go for parades or rabiot so unless we like Samuel iling jr? Would he count as hg?

Bremer and Iling-Junior were first 2 that came to mind for me. Would be happy with those 2 and Orban.

The yearning over in hinsight getting Eze, Olise, Scott as talented Champ players before they had made the jump to Prem and commanded a proper high fee - but the one player we actually went and did that with we've given no league minutes worth mentioning and are now talking about axing him.
No manager fancies him, zero, there’s a reason

The Asian cup runs from 31st Aug to 17th September, so Sonny would miss away to Burnley on 2nd Sept and potentially home to Sheff Utd on 16th Sept.

The purchase price is amortised over the life of the contract. As an example: if you sign a player for £100m on a 5year deal, in accounting terms its Treated as spending £20m a year for 5 years (plus wages, as they become payable). This is why Chelsea have started giving expensive signings 7-8 year deals.

Thanks, but I do understand accounting. What you have just described is more about FFP than cashflow. Also, amortization has been capped at 5 years following Chelsea's financial mismanagement (which is what an 8 year contract will be for many flops).

Amortisation has been capped at 5 years for FFP purposes, but not for balance sheet profit&loss; which matters for clubs like Chelsea that have debt ratios they probably need to hit. Agree 100% it'll make shifting their overpaid deadwood absolutely impossible when/if they flop.

My point on the amortization was just that it's our medium term revenue that constrains our transfer spending, not the annual number: so it's a bit apples to oranges to compare 1 year revenue versus a transfer cost that will be booked against 5 years' revenue. A lot of transfers have cash payments tranches across the various years to at least partially mimic the accounting treatment, and since football debts are senior, there is a lot of factoring of transfer fees so that clubs can get upfront cash if needed.

Asian cup seem to be around same time as AFCON. 12 jan-10 Feb. Crucial month where much of League and both domestic cups could be ended.
If their teams get knocked out of the completion early they could miss as few as 2 league games (we only have 2 in the whole of Jan IIRC).

Not ideal but shouldn't impact us as much as it has in previous seasons, thankfully.
