Yep exactly what i think.
Sad thing is too msny fans don't have tbe fight in them to ptotesr as they are so used to him and his mediocrity. Only way the whole fan base will react is if we are near the bottom and fighting relegation

Catch 22.
Surely the aim of splashing cash is to improve the team. We haven't even seen the team play yet!

And the window is still open for weeks anyway. I'd be amazed if our purchases are over.

Are we actually in for this guy or have we all got ahead of ourselves here because we like him

Paul O'Keefe has said that our interest is genuine, I'm virtually certain WLB also suggested the interest is real but I may be misremembering.

The more I think about it the more I think he's the perfect signing.

We've got Richarlison and Son in place as senior, reasonably well-established strikers for the short term. Richy is preferred over Gabriel Jesus for his country and Sonny has a brilliant scoring record when played up front. We've also got two teenagers with real potential in Scarlett and Veliz. We're in a good position to take a punt.

Orban's meteoric rise has been nothing short of incredible and there's a chance, even if slim, that he could prove to be one of those special players with preternatural goalscoring instincts. Even if not, we're well-covered in the No. 9 position both in the short- and long-term.

Roll the dice IMO.
Agreed. I'd spend the Kane cash on a top CB, Orban and take another gamble on Fati with alternative HG options being Olise, Eze and Edwards. Would probably set us back £140m ish.

Loan out Scarlett & Veliz and sell the following if possible:

- Gil
- Reggie
- Davies
- PEH
- Dier or Sanchez
- Japh
- Ndombele
- Spence

SC - why can’t we unearth these unknown talented players like Brighton do?
SC - Spurs linked with unknown talented youngster Gift Orban….. no thanks we need established star players
🤪
It’s fine wanting to take punts on young players but you’re just as likely to end up with 3-4 Sessegnon’s and Bryan Gil’s with 100m, as you are Kulusevski’s and Udogie’s. The main reason I want an established star is because I don’t think our team is 3-4 years away from being good, I think the vast majority of our first 11 are quality now and see no reason we can’t begin to climb the table again THIS SEASON.

Our interest may be genuine but didn't he have a dig at Arsenal something like "its like they don't want to win titles". And mentioned Man City, Liverpool and Man United as possible destinations. I don't think he's interested in signing for us.

Been a professional footballer for a year and would turn his nose up at a premier league club?

Spence too.
The yearning over in hinsight getting Eze, Olise, Scott as talented Champ players before they had made the jump to Prem and commanded a proper high fee - but the one player we actually went and did that with we've given no league minutes worth mentioning and are now talking about axing him.

I mean you could have searched for the actual WLB post before posting yourself but why let that get in the way of a good story….

Yeah there's a reason it's extremely rare for young Championship/lower league players to make the jump straight to top 6 clubs and do well.

Usually they need a stepping stone club in between to get the minutes at the top level and develop.

Beyond Alli I struggle to think of many Champ/League 1 players that went straight to a top club and made an instant impact (not including players loaned). And even we were a Europa league team in a much weaker prem when Alli joined.

Even if the talent is there most top clubs simply don't give them enough minutes so they get sold on.

And sadly, the reason Orban might actually work out at Spurs is cos we're now an 8th placed team willing to punt on an unproven player and we're actually in a position to give him minutes. If we were in the top 4 he'd be much less likely to get into the side.
