HERE WE GO

It’s an enormous risk but what the hell, I’m all for it. Get it done.

After selling Kane, every incoming striker is a risk. The only thing we know for certain is that Kane would have continued to score goals for us. If Orban wants to come to us, go for it. The rumoured transfer fee is not that expensive.

If this is project Kane in action. I’m all for it.

We need to be smart, bold and adventurous with the Kane money. Use it now, back ange, go for top 4 and cups.

A less expensive option in the meantime would be Gent’s Gift Orban, who has been the subject of a lot of scouting from the Spurs recruitment team, especially on the data side. His data has been very impressive, especially when it comes to what appears to be exceptionally good finishing. The decision Spurs will have to make is whether those finishing numbers are sustainable or whether it’s just a hot streak and/or how linked it is to the fact he has been playing in the Belgian top flight, which is a way off the level of the Premier League. The sense at Spurs is that he could be attainable for around £20m plus add-ons.

Meh, while I agree to an extent. Multiple teams have signed big players using money. Newcastle and Tonali for example.
Could very well be right but I think that one of them might just be Vlahovic.

I’d be over the moon with any two of Bremer, Chiesa and Vlahovic. Not that I think it’d happen in any way. 😄
I hope it’s vlahovic and chiesa. They’re both for sale apparently .

we have to give Richie a chance and Orban does that whilst having a potential wildcard up our sleeve should he be a success (which he will). Then if Richie doesn’t step up we cut our losses and replace him with Toney

Yeah I like this idea. Unlike when Kane monopolised all the minutes up top Orban can actually get some decent game-time as a backup for Rich.

Give him 15-20 mins off the bench and the occasional game off the right and see how he does. Then if him and/or Rich isnt good enough we reassess in Jan/next summer and sign an established number 9.

For many years no striker has wanted to come to Spurs to be purely the Harry Kane back-up.

They will now see us as an opportunity to progress and their only obstacle is Richy - who though he wears his heart on his sleeve does blow hot and cold and has a tendency to pick up injuries

Orban should look upon us as a good move and we should be seeing the potential in him. Could be a win win situation.

Once again we flubbed this one badly. If we wanted him regardless of Kane, this should have been done 2+ weeks ago. Of course the price is higher now.

The price would have gone up anyway, the minute we sold Kane prices are bound to increase.

Brighton are the stepping stone though...they were a mid table club when they developed those players.

If anything that proves my point.

If Caicedo or MacAllister had gone straight to Chelsea or Liverpool they wouldn't have got a game. Or at least not enough games to develop to the levels they are now.
Surely we’re the stepping stone now?

Yeah mentioned that in another post. In our current position we actually are now back in a position to give a player like Orban decent minutes whereas we wouldn't have been in previous years with a stacked "top 4 quality" forward line.

Pardon my ignorance.. hasn't their been ITK telling us that Richy is our striker (#9) now?

Is Orban a winger or #9?
