Doesn't seem like the Dortmund supporters are all that upset about selling him. Fair amount of them seem to be talking about how the Dortmund board fleeced Chelsea.

Well they signed Sancho for €9M, he's replaced Pulisic who they've sold for €60M. So you can understand it.

As someone rightly pointed out elsewhere - why are they spending this much on an attacking player when they have Hudson-Odoi waiting in the wings. What happened to trusting your youth players? Ok this is Chelsea but isn't ironic that Pulisic lost his Dortmund place to...........Jadon Sancho, a young English player denied opportunities with his club.
This wont effect Hudson-Odoi. Just look at how Chelsea marketed this. With Pulisic in the US kit. He’s an expensive commercial buy for them solely for there US tours. He’ll be fucked off to Holland or something then move back to the PL in a few years with some other club and be a footnote in Chelsea’s illustrious history of buying talented young players and not playing them.

If they lose Hazard, it's close to being an impossible job to replace him. A bit like losing Bale. Pulisic's got plenty of upward curve in him though. And it means Chelsea will dominate in the America market.
Not necessarily. Fuck him. I think Chelsea will still lag behind United, Liverpool and Arsenal over here.

Keita is excellent. He'll come good.

Pulisic is also a special talent but for whatever reason his development has stalled pretty badly. A move to Chelsea with Sarri (who loves these types of players and enjoys getting the best out of them) could be what he needs to kick on again. He should atleast get plenty of chances as they are very light in forward areas as it is and will need to bring in someone else to replace Hazard if he's defintely off in the summer anyway.

I wouldn't be happy we shelled out that much for him knowing that it could have been spent on a midfielder ;)

Now yes. But what if Eriksen doesn’t sign a new contract and we have to sell him in the summer? Pulisic could have come in and played that role probably for the same fee we’d get for Eriksen.

Was the loan back required to push the deal through? Or Chelsea just trying to spite us?

Going through rumours, sounds like it was either 80mil to get him right now or 58 mil to get him but loan for the rest of the season.

Pulisic might become a great player but his stats are nothing to write home about just yet. We will see if he is as hype as some make out

I didn't wanna put it in the ITK thread as its getting overloaded, but I imagine this is exactly the same situation with Lyon (NDombele) and a host of other players.

If we had the opportunity to get Ndombele for 58M but it required a loan back I'd bite their hand off to make it happen!

Yep, would be better to get him now but if that means we get him then it's got to be done.
