Perez just indicated to Spanish journos that intention to go ahead with SL without the English.

However Italian teams have decided to choose tomorrow, as a collective. All in or all out.

Call me crazy but I honestly do not think this is dead. There is still every chance UEFA has agreed to or will have to bribe this lot to kill it off. Or that the others will seek to proceed, probably in kahoots with PSG post-Qatar 2022, making the UCL unviable and giving the English clubs leverage to reach a compromise less outrageous to the fans and government. Or that "negotiations" will start with UEFA, ending up with either a heavily changed UCL or a breakaway with some of the most outrageous bits removed. The backdown has simply been too quick and easy for so monumental a plan formulated in response to so serious a circumstance. Perez is still getting fatter dining out on this one and I don't hear no singing yet.

Translation: We can learn a lot from German football. Nothing is off the table in this review

Just getting the Government to look at the German model is a step in the right direction. It's up to fans to keep the pressure up.

Very promising. I’m excited. It’s easy to be cynical but there’s the potential for positive change here

I'm very much a leftist, but Tracey was always pretty good on football issues. Sadly was being ignored by Boris but will hopefully get a hearing now...

2 groups of 3, top 2 go through automatically, 3rd place goes into a playoff against each other to decide the wooden spoon, 2 legged semi-finals, and then a final. It's going to be compelling.

Does anyone know if I can sue Perez for nicking my Spain-Italy super league idea?

The Italians may not behind this offer by JP Morgan

But they were behind FFP and the idea of a EURO SUPER LEAGUE, the old guard in Italy have struggled to exercise their dominance in the CL in the late 00's and then struggled to do the same in their league post the corruption scandal

Can someone quickly summarise what changes the breakaway clubs wanted from UEFA's current commercial revenue distribution model?

Was it just more money in general as they thought the competition was undervalued/UEFA were taking too much of a share of the revenue, or was it the way the revenue was distributed across all the teams in the competition? ie. we, Real Madrid, bring in more way more money than APOEL to the Champions League and therefore deserve an even higher percentage of the revenue than we're currently getting?

Rumors of the death of the Super League are significantly exaggerated.

It will be nothing without the Audi Cup champions though

The absolute gall of that statement. The fucking arrogance and delusion. Get this parasite out of our club ASAP.
100% mate it has no genuine regard for the fans he’s basically saying I’m sorry that our plan didn’t work out how I wanted but we will keep trying new things. What an utter ****

Ha yeah pretty much. Can't see JP Morgan being too happy with that

The thing is youd expect if clubs are goign to come out with a proposal that they would try to sell it... the clubs just tumbled like a pack of cards without so much as a wimper. Apart from Perez, no club or no formal communication mentioned about the real benefits and selling it to everyone. All weird.
