End of season report card.

Thought someone else may have started one by now. As they haven't, here's my stab at it, be interesting to see other people's opinions..

Friedel. C. Started season very well then age caught up with him. A good pro though and good to have at the club

Loris. A-. Had to wait for his starts but he has proved to be a top buy and will get better. Minus for a few goals I felt he was at fault for, namely Everton, Liverpool away

Walker. B-. A poor first half of season but got somewhere near his best towards season end.

Dawson. B. top pro to stay and fight for place and crucial that he did with Kaboul out. Won't be 1st choice next season though.

Verts. A- a great debut season. Future Captain?.

BAE. D. Very poor this season, head not right for whatever reason.

Caulker. C+. Slightly disappointed in him based on his reviews from Swansea. Young so still has time, big season for him next year.

Naughts. D. Not a left back.

Gallas. C- Was inspirational for us once, season too far. Still can be many players who's scored for Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs (and probably against them either)

Lennon. B. great first half of season. But got injured, wasn't the same after that. Sunderland goal was quality though.

Sandro. B+. Was best player till injury, missed him massively there after .

Parker. A for Effort, E for quality so I suppose that's a C overall.

Dembele. B. Had that run of games where when he played we never lost. Then he got injured playing on intl duty. Played better with on the team.

Hudd. C-. Did okay last few games but don't really see a future for him at club

Siggy. B-. A slow start but popped up with crucial goals, could prove useful squad member next season

Holtby. C. Don't think lived up to early hype. Has potential though.

Dempsey. B+. Marmite player but scored crucial goals and can't deny his effort.


Bale. A+. 4 awards, 30 goals, superstar Developing in front of our eyes. We are not a one man team, but he his by far our best player.

Defoe C. Was banging them in early season but 1 league goal since new year is very poor. Not top 4 quality IMHO

Ade. C- Absolute tosh till the Chelsea game but then proved there is a player there just we don't often see him.

Livermore. C. Squad player who gives his all just lacks quality


AVB. A-. Better than expected first season. Some strange decisions but then he is learning. Massive plus is that I think he is a fast learner. Definitely the right man for us. If backed by Levy, we can achieve something next season.

Think E is harsh on Parker when Ade, Livermore, Holtby etc get C's.. Even Naughton on D? Parker was a B easily and people only slate him because he's not Sandro or not as good as last year, it's peoples expectations that let him down as such, he was vital.

If you read my rating I actually give him a C. I can't deny his effort, just don't think he suits the team style now and it showed. Last season he won the ball and gave it to Modric. This season he was too far up the field, don't think that's his game.

Yeah but you said his performance was an E which is your actual opinion on him. You can't just pretend you think he was decent because he tried hard. You said he was an E and to be honest even pretending he's on par with Huddlestone and Livermore shows it's still wrong. Again, he was vital. We desperately needed him after Sandro, and he still had some amazing games where he took the game by the scruff of the neck. He might not be a great attacker but when none of the team seem to do it, he at least tries to force an issue which in turn gets us playing. Some of his tackles were amazing and as you can see I'm just annoyed at the Parker hate. I think he'll be moved on, he doesn't suit our play like you said, but he deserves more respect than that.

Individually a lot of B's and C's. Apart from Bale who obviously gets an A.

Haven't really had a lot of individuals shine or be consistent over the whole season, its been more a solid, functional group effort that has churned out results.

Freidel D/5 think he needs to be replaced costs us to many goals with his subbuteo goal keeping

Lloris A/9 think he's the best keeper in the league by miles! Immense so quick off his line!

Walker C/7 shit start! Arguably his mistake vs Liverpool cost us CL! But last 5 games he's been terrific always have it his all

Caulker C/7 cost us some goals with cluster fuck moments not as great as he was at Swansea but also needed more playing time wouldn't mind him going out on loan again but he won't be happy with that

Dawson c/7 solid! But not good enough for the level we need keep as back up done well this season to win his place back but dives in to much and gets raped by technical strikers but well done sir for fighting for your place back

Vertonghen A/9 what a signing! Great! Even though his goal exploits do make up for his sometimes powder puff defending or laid back defending he has been immense if you consider it's his first year here!

Gallas C/6 tried hard gave a warriors display sometimes age finally caught up with him! As well as injuries! Thanks for the service

Ekotto D/5 injuries and lack luster performances cult hero but I don't think he's the man for AVB! Sometimes great sometimes shit realty is we need a constilantly great lb!

Naughton D/5 not as good as I thought he would be but tried his hardest when called upon! In his less favored position some great play some shocking! Thank you for the service

Lennon B/8 was great at the start of the season and towards the middle remember than reading game?! But got injured and never recovered

Dempsey C/7 okay, looks awful and frustrating but in reality he scores important goals and that's a good thing to have didn't really happen for him but he still had a semi successful season

Sigurdsson C/7 first 6 months of the season I was wondering what had happened to him! Tail end of the season he was great hope he stays and pushes on next year!

Huddle stone D/6 well injuries lack of games and failure to stamp authority on games means it weren't a great season but it was an average one! Won his place back in the end due to our desperation on having somebody who could pass!

Dembele B/8 sometimes great sometimes shit! First bit of the season he was our most important player was terrified of losing him but then he kind of fizzled out and struggled with injuries will relish the summer break!

Parker C/7 gave 100% but was guilty of sometimes trying to hard and doing a role he weren't familiar with

Livermore E\4 had chances lost faith and was awful

Sandro A/10 Amazing until injury! Sad that we lost him!

Carroll B/8 impressed with every opportunity he had!

Bale A*10/10 don't really have to say anything!

Defoe C/7 a typical Defoe season we all know his good and bad points and what to expect from him but he scored goals that's what we needed

Adebayor D/5 if he played like he did for the last 3 games every game we would have been home & dry! Needs to sort his attitude

Players performed above expectations: Bale, Vertonghen, Lennon (returning to form).

Players performed as expected: Dembele, Lloris, Sandro, Dempsey, Parker, Dawson, Freidal, Defoe, Huddlestone, Gallas, Naughton, Caulker.

Players performed (slightly) below expectations: Siguardsson (Wasn't as good as he was at Swansea but still a good squad player), Walker (Obviously not as good as his pfa team of the year season), Holtby (Didn't do much as AM but difficult to make an impact straight away in a new league. I think he looked better in a deeper CM role) .

Players performed way below expectations: Adebayor (Horrid season but we should keep him, he will be better with a proper preseason and we need striker competition), Livermore (Can't believe he was capped by England), Assou-Ekotto (Should be sold).

Friedel C. A good back-up to have. Think he's get a lot of unfair criticism on here.

Loris B+. Not bad. A couple of mistakes, but overall a very good debut season.

Walker D. From Young Player of the Season to that. Declined defensively and offensively

Dawson B. A few iffy games aside he was solid. Didn't sulk when he wasn't in the managers plans and fought his way back into the team.

Verts A. Being in the TOTS says it all. Would have been an A+ except for a couple of dodgy games at LB.

BAE D. Poor. I don't think AVB wants//rates/likes him so I wouldn't be surprised if he's not here next year, which is a shame because he was more than good enough under Harry.

Caulker C. I was expecting more, perhaps unfairly.

Naughton C-. Isn't a left back, so I didn't want to be too harsh on him. Had some good games there though, such as Sunderland away.

Gallas C. Some god performances, some bad.

Lennon B-. Good first half, not so good second half. He was run into the ground a bit in fairness to him. Needs to improve his overall game next season to be a regular.

Sandro B+. I didn't think he was as great as he was the previous season, but he was still pretty damn good.

Parker B-. Not bad. took a bit of time to get back into it which is to be expected.

Hudd C- A couple of nice cameos, but is wasting the ability he has.

Dembele B-. Tends to hold onto the ball too much and doesn't play the right pass. He's excellent defensively though. Just need to get him to release the ball sooner.

Siggy C. Was poor for the first few months but grew in confidence and looked decent towards the end of the season. I think he'll be good for us next year.

Holtby C-. Didn't really add anything we were missing and didn't have any above average performance other than his cameo at Norwich.

Dempsey B-. Not much good in the build-up of play, but he scored plenty of big goals for us. He's a good player to have in the squad, I just hope we have better players in front of him next year.

Bale A+

. I can't say anything that hasn't already been said.

Defoe C. Good start to the season. Not so good after that.

Adebayor D - Very good in the last month. Non existent before that. I hope AVB has found to out how the get the best out of him because there's undoubtedly a good player there. As mentioned above, a good pre-season could be what he needs because he hasn't had one in a few years.

Livermore D-. Forgot we even had him. Not good enough sadly


AVB B - Not as easy job to take over due to the what happened at Chelsea and replacing the media darling, but overall it wasn't a bad job done. Nasty habit at the start of the season of going too defensive as soon as we took the lead which saw us lose late goals. To his credit he mostly fixed that. Our inability to defend set-pieces in the last few months also cost us dearly. Deserves a lot of credit for the improvement in Bale. Needs to get the team playing better football next season because it's been hard to watch at times this year.
