Bale (A*) - Nobody else has come even close to him.

Sandro (A) - His injury was cut short but he was outstanding for us when available.

Lloris (B) - Hugo has been a great signing but I still think he can do better, a lot better even. Solid first season nonetheless.

Verts (B) - Had a very solid 6 months when he first signed. Although, I still think he received a lot of praise for what was really him making up for his own positional mistakes. However, he has been nothing short of horrific in the last 8 weeks.

Lennon (B) - Had a brilliant opening half of the season, form certainly tailed off towards the end but that shouldn't cloud over a progressive season for him.

Defoe (C) - His brilliant pre-Xmas form can not be ignored, but then neither can his post-Xmas form either!

Siggy (C) - I actually thought he had some promising performances at the start of the seaon, whilst he has continued to perform reasonably despite playing out of position. Must play ahead of Dempsey next season. Must.

Dembele (C) - I love watching him, but is he just a Belgian Jermaine Jenas but without the goals? Must step up next season.

Walker (C) - Terrible at times, absolutely terrible. But equally brilliant at others also. Despite an up and down season, I think his game has progressed significantly under AVB.

Caulker (C) - I thought overall he did well when he played, I would much rather have had him over Dawson. Has to play more next season.

Beyond that there is certainly a large 'must do better' group consisting of Holtby, Parker, Hudd, Carroll, Ade, Naughton, Adebayor and Benni who I am all giving D's to. Holtby, Hudd and Naughton in particular didn't grab the chances that were afforded to them whilst Carroll didn't get enough game time and Adebayor struggled until the latter part of the season. Parker and Benni I think personally struggled on their return from some big injuries.

Then further beyond those are Livemore, Friedel, Dawson, Gallas AND Dempsey who are just simply not, nor are ever going to be good enough.

Rose and Townsend have had positive loans away from Spurs and I certainly would like to see them both given a chance, but then I have always thought they fit into that final group so why even bother.

I've ordered mine from top to bottom of best to worst, in my opinion:

Bale - 10/10 - Just sensational. Ridiculous goal tally, game winner on a number of occassions. World class.
Vertonghen - 9/10 - Our best summer purchase. Warrior at the back and chips in with a load of goals for a CB
Lloris - 9/10 - Superb. Keepers are not praised enough and strongly believe he's top 3 in prem
Dembele - 9/10 - Superb. He's integral to our team already and we are a completely different side when he plays.
Dawson - 8/10 - Solid and a leader on the pitch. His record of clean sheets speaks for itself this season
Sandro - 8/10 - Only an 8 and not 9 as he's missed half a season! Epic player and is going to be integral next year
Lennon - 7/10 - Was arguably our best player at the start of the season imo, but since injury has not looked himself at all
Dempsey - 6/10 - Terrible start to the season and doesn't seem to do much, but scored some very important goals
Sigurdsson - 6/10 - Mainly a sub, but a useful addition to come on. Should play him more though
Freidel - 6/10 - Solid when asked, had a few mishaps, but then lloris took over.
Parker - 6/10 - Very hot and cold. Sometimes epic, but sometimes just can't keep up with the pace of a game
Walker - 6/10 - Downgraded from last year, really poor 1st half. Got better towards end of the season.
Caulker - 6/10 - Mainly a sub and not too bad when he did play, but still young and caused him to get caught out a few times
Defoe - 6/10 - First half of the season, superb. Then had a massive goal drought and was really poor
Holtby - 6/10 - First few games looked good and superb workrate, but has failed to deliver much since then. High hopes however
Ekotto - 5/10 - Injury admittedly played a big part, but caught napping so many times and we need to replace him
Huddlestone - 5/10 - Mainly a sub, but pretty poor mostly, mainly due to the fact he's so slow and our team is built on pace
Naughton - 5/10 - Mainly a sub, but pretty unreliable. A lot to learn, but again he's still young
Livermore - 5/10 - When used, he's been very poor. Again, he's only young so will get better.
Adebayor - 4/10 - Just dreadful for 3/4 of the season. Last few weeks has proved me wrong and hope to see that next year
Gallas - 3/10 - Dreadful. Shouldn't have ever signed him and glad his contract is up. Clearly passed it

Lloris: One of the new kids in class, Hugo has quickly impressed with both his intelligence and his confidence. From what he's shown, he is certainly gifted and we expect him to not only continue performing well, but improve as well. Rarely makes a mistake and is definitely a pleasure to have around. A-

Walker: Having given us good reason to believe in him last season, Kyle let his standards drop this season. He seemed to address this an markedly improve towards the end of the season, and is worth persisting with as he is a very hard worker with a few obvious advantages over others similar to him, but he will be expected to perform at a higher level and on a more consisted basis from now on. C+

Dawson: After very nearly being transferred to another school to make space for the new kid, he worked very hard to show that he was not only still a consistent performer who always tries his hardest, but also that he can produce some great results. Perhaps he'll never be a top student, but his enthusiasm for his work and determination to make the best of what he has means that he has had another good season and deserves to be praised for it. B

Vertonghen: Another new kid, Jan immediately made himself a part of the group and built positive relationships with everyone around him. His natural abilities were evident straight away, as were his great attitude, and while he did seem to lose his way a little mid year, probably due to taking on too much too soon and overworking himself, he picked up again and finished the season as one of our best performers. It should also be noted what a brilliant influence he is on all the other pupils. A-

Ekotto: I was very surprised by Benny this season. While he has never been a model student, and always a bit of a live wire, his natural ability has always meant that he's stood apart. However, this season something was missing, perhaps owing to the disruption the circumstances he'd become used to, and we stopped seeing the best of him. If he is to remain here then he needs to apply himself and make sure he performs as we know he is capable of, there's no excuse for some of the results he has produces when we are all so aware of his capabilities. C-

Sandro: Circumstances beyond his control meant that our resident martial arts expert never managed to see the season out, which is a huge shame as he was delivering constantly and really performing as a star student. It's obvious that he will achieve great things, and it's unfortunate for both himself and the rest of the class that he was cruelly prevented from doing so this season when he was set to be an absolute star this season. B+

Dembele: Moussa came into a class which had lost it's star pupil and looked for a while like he would be the new jewel in the crown. He started very well and impressed us all with his progressive nature and his understanding with other pupils, but he didn't sustain it. The signs are there that he'll be a great contributor for a long time, but he'll need to improve next season and sustain it, more importantly, if he is to deliver what we know he can. B

Lennon: Having been brilliant in spells for so long, but never sustaining it, this season seemed to be one where Aaron would finally fulfill his promise. He was doing just that, working extremely hard and showing lots of naturally ability with more than a little effectiveness too, but he tailed off unfortunately, albeit after some disruption to his circumstances, and seemed almost afraid to do what he's capable of. B

Adebayor: Very frustrating. We had grown to expect so much of him, he had given us every reason to believe that he'd left behind his rebellious streak from his youth, knuckled down and really become what his natural gifts always pointed towards. It wasn't to be, he just never applied himself the way he has previously and, much like Benny, did not reproduce what he has in the past. Some late flourishes do not mitigate what is overall a very distressing performance from him this season, so his case will be under extreme review before the new season, and if he is awarded a second chance then he will be expected to work harder than ever to remind us why we gave him a place in the first instance. C-

Defoe: Jermain gave us what he always gives us. He started the season positively, producing some of his best work and working very hard and enthusiastically to contribute. As ever, it faced, he lost either confidence or, more worryingly, the will to be the best he could be, and what could have become his most productive season ever ended up wondering how much better it could have been had he just sustained his effort. B-

Parker: You can never doubt Scotty for effort. He is an example to all the other students and he never lets himself down. However, he is finding it harder and harder to stand out when surrounded by more able company, and though he remains a valuable and likeable member of our project, he might not have much time left in him before he needs to drop to a level more suitable. I hope he is still with us next season, but it might be his last. B-

Dempsey: His results will show that he has been an above average student, but he just doesn't contribute enough in class, and when he does his efforts seem forced. His heart seems to be in the right place but I can't help but feel that he's not of the ilk we expect from our pupils. C+

Caulker: Steven has a lot to learn, but he is very capable and with the right guidance he could be a very good student. We have high hopes for him, he just needs to focus a bit more, cut out a few errors and hone the things he is already very good at. C+

Sigurdsson: Gylfi came in with a lot of promise, and for ages we were left wondering why. He didn't seem like he could cope with the levels expected of him. He improved towards the end, and like some others he is going to get better with time and as he learns more, but he will have to work very hard if the talent we all saw in him when inviting him to join is to come to fruition. C+

Naughton: Through no fault of his own, Kyle just isn't up to standard. He works hard and he will thrive in certain circumstances, but he won't find those circumstances here when we expect such high standards of our pupils. D

Huddlestone: When Tom joined with Aaron, we felt that there was a really talent to work with. He appeared to be so creative and so ahead of his time. Unfortunately he never built on this, not in the slightest. He offers up the odd glimpse of brilliance, and I don't doubt that he is capable of some very impressive feats, but they come too few and far between to justify accommodating him when you consider how little he contributes and how much less he does than other, less capable students. C-

Holtby: Lewis only joined mid season so it would be unfair to fully assess him, but he has promise. He does seem to have some natural ability, but in his over eagerness to show it he can often go too far and not show his best. He has a brilliant attitude, but he needs to sit back and figure out how best to take advantage of his skills. C

Gallas: For a student who commands a lot of respect from his peers, he doesn't justify it at all with his performance. He doesn't want for effort, but the connection between his abilities and his product is no longer there and he will most likely drop down to somewhere he'll be more comfortable. C-

Friedel: He has contributed a lot, and shown a great attitude in doing so. He's taken a back seat to the more talented pupils but still been a positive influence throughout and conducts himself as you'd want any student to. No longer a stand out performer, but still one you enjoy having around. C+

Bale: Gareth has shown himself to be a truly brilliant student. Some students will always be spoken about for their potential but never produce, well Gareth has in spectacular fashion. Not just the star student, but a role model to all the others as well. His effort, ability and personality make him an absolute joy to have in class, and he can only get better from here. Hopefully he will remain with us for a long time, because students of this calibre are truly once in a generation. A+

Friedel. C. IMO he was to blame for quite a few of the goals we conceded at the beginning of the season, due his inability to anticipate danger early enough and stoic refusal to leave his line. He's been good as backup though.

Loris. A-. Best keeper in the league IMO, easily better than Hart, De Gea etc but has flown under the radar a bit. that's good for us though, as I've been worried some of the bigger boys (Barca?) would come sniffing around. Could've done better for Downing's goal at Anfield though. sure, Walker put him in trouble, but he tried to be a bit cute with the clearance, when he could/should really have wellied it.

Walker. B-. seemed to be on whatever planet BAE was for a long time, but improved as the season continued. He can still be extremely infuriating though. For instance, I was at WHL for the Everton game, and he kept getting the ball in MILES of space out wide, yet instead of taking it down the line ahead of Baines (who he had the beating of) like the entire crowd was willing him to do, he kept checking back in and moves eventually fizzled into nothing. the ONE time he goes down the line, it leads to the equaliser. with that in mind, you'd expect that the next time he gets on the ball, he'd do exactly the same, yes? nope, he went straight back to dallying again when a winner was there for the taking for the team. he's young though, so he'll improve, but he has to want to. also needs to find some intelligence from somewhere.

Dawson. B-. love his attitude and desire, but is very limited, and I'm always worried when he's the "senior" CB in the partnership as he seems to have no idea how to organise his junior CB and the rest of the back 4. an example off the top of my head: Newcastle's goal at WHL could've been prevented had Dawson pushed Caulker out to the ball. still an excellent back-up for Vert and Kaboul for sure.

Verts. A. magnificent defender. not quite sure how we managed to get him, and for so cheap too, but I'm not complaining. don't wanna see him at LB too much though. I felt sorry for him at the Etihad when Maicon gave him a total roasting. changed the game from there against QPR though.

BAE. D. no idea what he was playing at this season. poor.

Caulker. C+. clearly talented, but still has a lot of work to do. he's far too rash at times and in too much of a hurry to just get rid off the ball, which cost us a couple of times this season, most notably at Goodison. Lloris screamed at him to leave, and he just lashed out at the ball and conceded the throw-in (or was it a corner?) from which Everton equalised.

Naughts. D. Pffft.

Gallas. C- I thought he did ok, considering his legs have gone. Will obviously need to go now though.

Lennon. C+. great first half of season, but even then just doesn't do enough for me.

Sandro. A. his injury was critical. he was a total monster up till then. my highlight of him was celebrating a tackle at the Etihad like he'd just scored a goal. can't come back quickly enough

Parker. D. loads of effort, but he's been simply dreadful at times IMO. dwells on the ball too much, slows play down, and contributes nothing to the team going forward....yet tries to bomb on at every opportunity. go figure...

Dembele. B. Rolls-Royce don't make midfielders, but if they did....he needs to kick on a bit next season though. he has all the ability in the world, and can do pretty much anything he wants to, but just seems too content to glide through games when he really could be bossing them.

Hudd. C-. changed the game against City and put in a couple of good performances late in the season, but also a couple of poor ones too.

Siggy. C. took a while to get going, but scored some crucial goals when he did, and helped to change games when coming on as sub. difference between he and Dempsey is that when he's not scoring he still has some usefulness/impact

Holtby. C. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt because he joined midway through the season, so will probably need an entire preseason to get up to speed. some useful contributions though.

Dempsey. D. yes he scored crucial goals. 12 of them, which probably amount to a combined 1-2 minutes of usefulness. any time he wasn't scoring, he veered between not doing much and and actually being a burden to the team.

Bale. A+. he was alright I guess.

Defoe D. similar to Dempsey actually, in that he was pretty rubbish when he wasn't scoring. which was an awful lot of the time.

Ade. D- he was poor for most of the season admittedly, but I didn't think he was anywhere near as bad as people were making out. looked to be short on confidence rather than effort, and can be very good for us next season and beyond if we can work out how to get him believing he's as good as we know he can be.

Livermore. N/A. who?

AVB. A. I was a fan from before we even got him, and I'm glad he's managed to win over the majority of doubters. has got on with playing the hand he was dealt without ever complaining, and got as much out of the squad as I think anyone could have expected. some questionable tactics/selections at times, but he's so great at reading games and making the necessary changes, as evidenced by the number of second halfs we won, and games we retrieved/won very late. we're a lot more organised now, and actually have tactics, and he really needs to be backed with quality signings or we'll waste what is an excellent opportunity to progress. had he managed last year's squad, I think we'd have walked 3rd without any problems

Bit harsh on Benny. If he's a 'D' then Ade should get an 'F'. Not sure about an 'A-' for AVB. Ok, biggest points total yet in Premier League, but surely an 'A' should be reserved for achieving Levy's target, which was undoubtedly top 4. Whatever the circumstances, he failed on that.

he's failed only if you believe the objective was CL-or-bust. yes we hoped to qualify, but no way can anyone tell me we expected or were expected to.

Bale - A*. What is there to say? Really developed his game this season, can now play in the middle and out on the right, making him less predictable for the opposition, which helps us as a team to utilise his super-human abilities. Must keep.

Hugo - A. What a signing, how was no one else interested? Really stumbled on a fantastic keeper here guys and gals. Despite his small frame he has fitted in fine with the physicality of the PL, couple of matches it was really tested however. Take note De Gea.

Verts - A-. Great debut season, had a bit of a sketchy patch mid-way through the season, but was still very good. Fully deserves his place in the team of the year. Keep up the goals to Jan!

Sandro - A-. Only Injury has stopped him from getting a full A. Says a lot that the person who injured him was himself, no one else could do it! Love him, a beast of a player as we already knew, kept up the top performances into this season too.

Dembele - B+. Great first season with the club, went missing in a few matches but pulled back his outstanding early season form for the final couple months. Think Liverpool away was when it came back. Shame a couple niggling injuries kept him out for a bit though.

Daws - B. When he got back into the team he was outstanding, a real leader and looked like he had something to prove to AVB. Performances did go down towards the end of the season though.

Lennon - B-. Fantastic first half of the season, really was terrorising defences with his pace, but as usual, injury stopped him from keeping up his early season form. Seems to happen every season now.

Dempsey - C+. His vital goals that he scored through the season brought it up his mark, had too many non-existent showings for my liking though.

Walker - C+. A tough full season to follow after he did so well last year, seemed to get better as the season went on, but made too many mistakes. Hopefully he'll realise he needs to work harder and we'll see better from him next season.

Sig - C+. Tough, tough start to his Spurs career, clearly a confidence type player, got more into his stride towards the tail end of the season, was unlucky not to start more games IMO.

Caulker - C+. Shame he couldn't reproduce his Swansea form into this season, maybe he is the type of player who needs to play every week to get the best out of him (similar to Johnny Evans at Utd in that respect). Still have high hopes for him though.

Defoe - C. Season of two Halves for Jermain. Brilliant in first half, disappeared in the second half. Far too greedy, but able to produce goals from nowhere. Sometimes.

Holtby - C. We haven't seen the best of this boy, too many of his appearances came from the bench so was difficult for him to make an impact. Look forward to see what he does next season.

Friedel - C-. Made a few decent appearances, but a lot to live up to when Lloris made the no 1 spot his.

Parker - C-. First few appearances after Sandro's injury looked like last seasons Parker, but then faded, badly. Put in a very good performance on last day of the season though.

Gallas - C-. Did ok, but I think his age is catching up on him now. Time for him to move on.

Hudd - D. Not good enough, seems to player better after coming off the bench, think this has to be it for Tom.

Ade - D. Oh bloody hell. Far, Far, FAR too many games where he didn't show up, should have seen this coming after he signed permanently. last 3 games of the season he played well.

BAE - D. Not nice to see one of your favourite players go downhill so much, no idea why, maybe the early season injury affected him, not sure though. Will be gone in summer.

Livermore - D-. Not good enough. A shame though as he didn't do too badly last season and is always nice to see home grown talent come through, home game to Chelsea was where he really pissed me off.

Naughton - D. Yeah, ok, LB is not his position, he's clearly a right back, but even at RB he didn't shine, not sure what will happen to him.

AVB - A. So many people from the press to us Spurs fans doubted him, I never did, knew he needed to be supported like all new managers should be and he has done so so well, hope he stays for a long time. Please, please, please back him in the transfer window DL.
