Not watching wasn't ever an option.

Not impressed when Zokora went up for his, but fair play to the guy, he had the bottle and he scored - just like Darren Bent

Unfortunately, I had no doubts that Jenas would miss, but for Chimbonda not to get it on target, is really unforgiveable in a professional footballer!

This is really sad, but.......

One of my mates was telling me that a team that wins a penalty shoot-out, isn't said to have won the leg, but instead to have "progressed through to the next round on penalties".

This way, when it comes to working out coefficients, team winning/losing streaks, games decided by penalties aren't taken into account.

Does anyone know if this is true?

Does anyone care?

I didn't think we'd win it to be honest, so I guess that helped ease the nerves.

I knew in the CC final we had to win it in extra time, because Chelski just had so many big game players in their side that you'd put your house on scoring and they had Cech too. Robbo doesn't strike me as a great peno stopper and I didn't expect all our youngsters to hold their nerve.

I was gutted of course, but proud of how the lads performed throughout the game.

I know it's true when they work out international team rankings, no idea for the purposes of club football though.

Stood there with the gang, arm-in-arm like a long-distance extension of the team on the half-way line, scarves over our heads, making each other watch every crazy second.

Couldn't have felt closer to the lads, unless I'd been out there of course!

And yes, I might have said 'Oh Fcuk Zokora'

Shame on me

I think everyone said something along the lines of "fuck, no" when Zokora stepped up

When it got to the 5th pen, I thought Steed was going to be stepping up to the plate, and thus, the game would be ours. my heart sank when JJ appeared. I said to my mate if it goes to sudden death we'll lose.

Had enough chances to win the game in normal time. Shit happens, we'll be back next season. C.O.Y.S

Damn you!

Actually, it's my fault. I watched the game at home, alcohol-free, never usually attempt that

I watched it alone at home, I was sitting there in my pj's, then with about 30 mins of normal time to go, I got it into my head that if I went upstairs and put my Spurs shirt on we would win. I was arguing with myself for about 10 mins, then thought fuck it, I went upstairs & put it on. It helped initially as we got a goal but obviously didn't with the penalties. Maybe I wasn't quick enough or maybe I should have put it on from the start, we'll never know.
