Yes. He and Downing have been lumbered with probably the most useless set of strikers the EPL has ever seen. It says a great deal that, apart from Tuncay, Mido remains Boro's equal top scorer—and that Southgate felt the need to bring in Marlon King (Eek) to add some goals.

Did you happen to see Mido's effort at the crossbar challenge on Soccer A.M?
Its unfathomable that a professional footballer can strike a ball like that!

is he any good in the air - I seem to remember him heading one in against us - but that's not much to judge on

ig Harry thinks he's the answer that's fine by me - but I would hate to see Bent leave because of this - that I couldn't fathom

ugh i do NOT want to see him here, very bad presence in the dressing room too. hopefully this is just BS, i'd much rather have crouch here, at least he's a nice guy

Crouch is my preferred option too - but I'll trust Harry's judgement over mine :)

maybe we'll get both :)

of course Harry may not be interested in Cisse

ITK I am not

Ii think the source( which cannot be divulged) for this latest cause of panic is one of these dodgy Northern sauces which makes all their kids morbidly obese and gives everyone high blood pressure.

Cisse could not play with any of Defoe, Keane or Bent.

Defoe and Keane are better than Cisse. Bent is probably better than Cisse.

Why would we want him?

Well surely if this is true it spells the end for either Bent or Pav. I'd be disappointed either way- we're in need of a target man, not Bent mark 2.

sunderland fans don't like him at all and generally think bent is better, and i agree with them.

hope harry surprises us all. i think it's just his reputation for preferring big africans, but he didn't have much of a choice with pompey's budget and he could attract better here.

Guys whats with the witch hunt, he hasn't even signed yet and some of you are slating him, give the bloke a chance, Harry will be his manager and we know Harry gets the best out of his players, This could be a real good deal, don't give up on the guy before he's even kicked a ball in a Spurs shirt.

Harry's managed to save us from almost certain relegation, if he wants to bring Cisse in the least we can do is give him a chance, it's Harry's call and if it's good enough for him then i'm fine with it, I just hope he bags a couple on his debut to shut the moaning up.

There's a very good reason he's getting slated. He doesn't know the meaning of the word 'pass' and will take a pop when the chances of scoring are minimal and there are better-placed team-mates. (This from a couple of Sunderland sources.) That was one of JD's bad habits, but the Djerbil is far, far worse.

And if we are looking for a new striker, he really isn't the type we need—why bother when we have Defoe and Bent?
