We've got Defoe who cant score away and Bent who cant score at home. That should make team selection easy next season. Keane links up ok with Bent while Pav and Defoe also showed initial promise as a pairing. I don't really see we need to change much up front. Limiting factor is whether Harry is willing to rotate Keane as well as the others.

I pretty much agree. Unless we can sign someone markedly superior (and that's really got to be a big powerful hold-up man) then we should stand pat and work with what we have.

Unless we're offing Pav, keeping the other 3 & only need someone on loan for a season.

We'd bring in cash from selling Pav & hardly spend anything by getting Cisse on loan. 2 short arse players, 2 bigger players. All 4 knowing the Prem.

I'd like to add that I think we should keep Pav.

Striker set for Spurs move
Sunderland, 15:03, May 13, 2009
Djibril Cisse's agent has claimed the striker will join Spurs next season after falling out of favour at the Stadium of Light.

The former Liverpool player has scored 11 goals for the Wearsiders this season, but has only one in his last 11 games and was dropped to the bench for Sunderland's goal-less draw with Bolton last Saturday.

The Black Cats have first refusal to sign Cisse, currently on-loan from Ligue 1 side Marseille, but have stalled on a decision on making the deal permanent until the club have secured their Premier League status.

Now the player's agent, Ranko Stojic, has claimed his client is set to join Harry Redknapp's Tottenham Hotspur in the summer.

Speaking to French newspaper L'equipe Stojic said: "Djibril will not remain at Sunderland after the season has finished.

"We have an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur for Djibril to sign a 12-month contract. He will sign for Tottenham."

Martins is crap.

He used to be ok when he was 35, but his legs have gone following his 40th birthday

I thought Martins was Essiens fathers, brothers, cousin.. and was pushing 50

And to think he peaked at 35...

dont really rate Cisse that much..
Tuncay anyone?

I really rate Tuncay think his a Class act really
Im not to sure on his prefered possition as iv seen him play as a striker and recently when he impressed me at CM
Against pool i think it was he was driving forward providing some good final balls.. decent shot.. good skills

Dont no if he would be an upgrade but would be a welcome addition

I think Martins is Kanu's younger brother so that would put him at about 53.

Kanu's pushing 60. & they made a fuss about Teddy playing at 40. If only they knew...

Tuncay has looked a class act in a side with relegation written all over it. Quick, skilled and unpredictable..........a sort of Robbie Keane with legs

Cisse is about as good as Ronnie Rosenthal. Once every 2 or 3 years he will look like a deadly finisher but most of his efforts land in row Z.

Yes. He and Downing have been lumbered with probably the most useless set of strikers the EPL has ever seen. It says a great deal that, apart from Tuncay, Mido remains Boro's equal top scorer—and that Southgate felt the need to bring in Marlon King (Eek) to add some goals.
