I've been defending Eriksen recently but for the first 20 minutes he looked like he'd never even seen a football. Luckily he turned it on a bit during the end of the half.

Even game so far, Chelsea look up for it so far, I think they'll start to fade after about 60 minutes.

I’m struggling to understand how Hazard elbowed Trippier in the face and the referee waved play on?

Firstly it was clearly a foul and Hazard should’ve been booked and even if he didn’t deem it a foul, he’s down with a head injury??

Exactly! Shouldn’t play be halted when there’s a head injury and last I remembered, the face was part of the head.

He will score the winner for us today.

Survived the early pressure, which was to be expected after the final loss and at home to us. Grew into the game after that, 0-0 at half-time. This is certainly winnable from here.

Have to say I agree with them. He’s an enigma to me. All action. Low quality. That said he has won back the ball with some good tackles. I just can’t fathom him. When he doesn’t start I want him to come on. When he starts. I want him subbed. I can’t put my finger on it.....sorry Lamela lovers.

I think the phrase you’re looking for is “flatters to deceive”.

Need to stop playing a pass into congested areas. Far too many passes went up top to a player surrounded, if you do that you need other bodies closer to that player but most of the time they're 10 yards away.

Having said that last ten we've started to work it better. Stay tight, don't concede then turn the heat up.

I fully expect Eriksen I be involved in any goal we score tonight, but I just wish he would turn the gas up a bit for the rest of the game. Seems to be holding something back this season. No energy in his game.

He’s blatantly off isn’t he. But he’s too important to drop

He's been fine. Just like he has for the last month.

People need to manage their expectations. He's still working incredibly hard.

People round here treat him like he's Ozil or something the second he's not scoring or assisting with every touch ffs

The way he saunter around still pisses me off, regardless of whether he pops up with the odd winning goal.

Remember when Modric was leaving and he had a fantastic final season, something to really remember him by. I'm not getting that from Eriksen.

Wtf?

He's been one of our best attackers, hasn't stopped, great challenges and some good passes.
I said Lamela had been awful earlier in the thread, but I'll clarify and say he's been awful in possession. Off the ball he's doing all the right things, he's moving well, he's tackling is borderline but perfect for the way Marriner's decided to ref this game. But in possession it's not happening for him at all.

I think that some people just don't understand what sort of player Lamela is.

0 shots on target and only 1 off target... Need to create better chances and hit the target!

Oh ffs. He's been playing with a chronic stomach injury and STILL does more running than most of our team AND hasn't missed through injury like most have.

Playing within limits is NOT playing "low energy".

Not keeping the ball well enough up front, Lamela dribbling too much, Eriksen generally poor & Son has taken too long to get into the game. As every against these sides we look like we could shoot ourselves in the foot at anytime.

Need to improve our quality on the ball, especially up front, to get anything out of this game.
