Can we keep our players, and push on from here?

I'm really impressed with the direction the team's been taking under Poch. The way we're integrating our youth players but also bringing some players in.

We always seem to get to a certain point, then someone comes in and we sell our prized assets. I know that this is pretty normal, unless you have an owner with limitless pockets and can pay players silly wages, but I really hope we can hold on to our players, and make some key buys to push on (for once).

I genuinely think we're only a few players away from a serious title challenge. We're not quite deep enough and could probably do with a bit more quality in a few key areas of the pitch.

What with the new stadium, do you think Levy and Co will finally think about doing whatever we need to, to hold on to Kane, Alli, Loris & co, plus dip into their pockets and buy? I don't know if we're going to have to sell to help pay for the stadium, or if this won't be necessary?

COYS!

Seems like we have a really good team spirit with no big egos to cope with. They look like a bunch who will stick together and back each other, so I see no reason why any of them would want out. We do need a bit of rotation to keep the competition for places lively, but the future looks pretty bright to me.

Not only keep them but playing like this with an attractive and effective style will mean players want to join.

They're linked, if we can keep our good young players who hopefully develop and grow together we will push on and if we push on, we will keep these players we're worried about losing.

If we look like a team that will achieve something I think we have a good chance of holding on to them a bit longer, but none the less if we do sell I think with the scouting set up we have now, we have a very good chance of getting sound replacements than before.

With the new tv deal coming in i think our best players might be too expensive for other teams. Not saying the likes of real and co couldn't afford them just there will be much cheaper alternitives out there. It would probsbly take a record bid to tempt kane away and i don't think anyone would be willing to match it.

sorry but I don't like this assertion that we need more players to "push on", we just need patience, the players are already here. unlike the redknapp team which wasn't built on a sustainable foundation - players at their very peak and ones we couldn't hold on to. or the bale team which was built on one player, this one isn't, it's a team effort built on a collective belief and longevity.

History tells us no.

Unless we consolidate Champs League football they will want to move on after a couple of seasons.

On the whole i agree with this - would still like a super speedy winger and another out and out striker though - and do think we are building a team with spirit. if we hit top 4 we keep Loris, if we just miss it and keep all our players he may still stay here. Verts was another concern for me but feel he loves it with Toby now and we are not seeing the sulking fek that he was a few seasons ago. Who would want to leave this team at the moment I just cant see because of the spirit they are playing with and they are clearly loving it. I just dont see any mercenaries in the side at the moment.

Dembele has been quality, I think he could add to a lot of good teams. Remember when Ferdinand and sherwood said he could play for Madrid?

Great thing about the current squad is that there are no "stand-outs".

In previous years, we always had one really amazing player, like Bale, who was always gonna leave eventually. The fact that we're now playing as a team makes me much less worried about losing our best players.

If we get the players to buy into the idea that they're part of something special and that great things are just around the corner, then yes, we can keep the squad together. The club is going places, and as soon as the players get that feeling as well, they'd be less inclined to listen to the offers from elsewhere which will inevitabliy start coming in,
Levy needs to show his hand as well however and spend big on a striker this January window, to reinforce the view that we mean business...

Lloris is the most likely to go IMHO but we could probably live with that one. As magnifique as he is.

Can we keep the players, the way things are going i think the more pertinent question should be can we keep the coach.

there are many bigger fish than us that might fancy a change in the summer

We've only ever sold one player at a time for an (at the time) extortionate fee. I'm not even sure where these sorts of discussions stem from.
