He started against Partizan and showed why Rose is starting in the Premier League. Reckon he'll get another chance against Forest.

I've said it elsewhere, but he doesn't look a good fit to Poch's system to me. In fact, while I don't rate Danny Rose highly, he's a far better fit, and it makes me question just why we signed Davies.
Poch likes his centre-backs to spread wide, his defensive midfielder to drop in and the two full-backs to play like wingers. Walker is suited this, Rose to a certain degree is - high energy, pace, attacking instincts. Davies seems a more solid, defensive player who passes it short and isn't blessed with exceptional pace. Dier, certainly isn't suited to the system on the opposite side, but then needs must.
Davies looks an odd signing at £10 million to me.

Funny how watching the same games we can come to completely different conclusions. To me, Davies is far more like Luke Shaw than Danny Rose is. He is quick enough to get forward and get back and is better than Rose at delivering the ball. Similarly Dier, I have been impressed and surprised by his ability to get forward, his pace and his stamina. He too can put a better ball in than Walker IMO.

From what I've seen of him at Swansea, he's a very attacking full back. Against Partizan, the few things he did well was when going forward. We should give him time to settle in to the side before making any judgement.

Fair enough - it's all subjective. Dier may be able to cross the ball, when I look at him I see a 6ft 4in centre-back who's slow on the turn and is never going to be as athletic as Kyle Walker. He's just not a right-back, for me.

What do you mean he doesnt fit in?!

Hes an average player who is as average as all of the other average players we have.

Fits in just fine with our current crop.

Now I realise these are always very convenient summaries and not showing the shyte, but here goes: (Actually it does show alot of routine rubbish, like passing the ball along the ground to the nearest man.)

On current form Rose is the better player in my opinion, Davies will get his chances

I have never been a DOF or coach etc.....but i would never have bought Davies, certainly not for 10m...Baldini must have something very big on DL to be still in a job.....he should not be allowed anywhere near our transfers after most of his buys the last 2 years.
