Shouldn't have been allowed..... I presume that for the rescheduled game both sides will only allowed to field players available this week and not any new signings?!?!?
Thing is, same happened last season - so why do the FA give them a home game on Boxing Day?

Full/Empty...would anyone notice at the Scumerates? :sneaky: Seriously, though, I can't help thinking that the authorities may not be quite so forthcoming if it was us missing half a squad through food poisoning right before a vital game...o_O

Either way, they'd chalk it up as a 60,000 sell out.

theres 2 other premiership games in london on boxing day & there going ahead!
anyway its fuckall to do with football!..arsenal do it every year & nobody's sussed it yet!..wilshires needed in pantomine the dwarf looking ****

Presumably West Brom and Southampton fans would be traveling by car or coach. But still, Fulham and QPR fans would most likely need the tube as well. I know it's a derby, but it's a bit odd that one London game gets called off but the other two are fine.

Although what with us, Everton, West Brom, Chelsea and Stoke winning it puts that little bit more pressure on the Woolwich Sphincter to make up the points.

I agree at least everyone won! Hopefully they lose this weekend.

Someone on the Fighting Cock linked to a very interesting article yesterday about the magical workings of the fixture calendar. Apparently, you have one team that you're paired with in terms of fixtures - presumably Arsenal are ours - where your fixtures get reversed to avoid fan/transport/ policing problems. Once you try and move or change a fixture then you upset a huge number of other clubs, eg. we'd already played Villa at home so they couldn't just switch them and even if they had been able to, they would have affected the West Brom match too (possible Villa's 'paired' club?), which would have affected QPR too...etc....There's a huge number of variables and permutations so it was just simpler to postpone it for everyone involved, I think.

A term they seem quite familiar with at the moment, over at Scum-Towers ;)

You should know better than resorting to reasoned argument where Scum-Hate is concerned ;)

Breaking News ..

A Metroline bus driver on route 271 has called in sick. He was rostered to work on Saturday afternoon.

The Arsenal board have called an emergency meeting with a view to postpone the fixture.
