Just been announced that this rule will be rescinded as of 1st June. If it is accidental handball the goal will be allowed. If the hand is in an unnatural position I’d up in the air...the goal will be disallowed.
IFAB meeting taking place today.
Official.

Shambles really.

but that isn't happening though the clarification of the rules are farcical look at the penalty Everton got at Liverpool its never a penalty even their goal last night thats not handball its not deliberate - last nights penalty decision I didn't think was a poor one at all ,if there was contact it was minimal and it doesn't have to be a foul - refs have no leaway at all - football is a contact sport but that is being taken out the game by ridiculous rules that have added nothing and increased the amount of cheating and going down for the slightest little touch when everyone hoped it would have been the opposite
Again I disagree, the unacceptable thing is inconsistent rulings more so than ridiculous rules, how will it be fair and if the goal we score against Sheffield United is rule out but the goal they scored is allowed to stand, this will happen if rules are allowed for interpretation, I mean you said it yourself, the Everton penalty shouldn’t be given but it is given and ours last night wasn’t because rule was interpreted by different ref and the decision inconsistent. What we need is consistent decisions in the same scenario, we can only achieve that by taking away the interpretation as otherwise it’s never going to be fair as the decision will continue to be inconsistent, and that’s a lot worse.
And honestly how do you judge the contact to be not enough for a foul, if there’s contact then that is a foul this shouldn’t be open for interpretation, the situation isn’t unavoidable, the defenders shouldn’t stuck out his leg in the first place as there’s no way he could have got the ball so what do you think he was trying to do.

I managed to see the game from the 30th mins onwards. This morning I just watched the 3 mins highlights as well

To be fair, whilst it was a squeaky bum watch, Kane really should have scored his header in first half (possibly the biggerst sitter I’ve ever seen him miss), plus the chance created by Lamela in second half, it could have been a lot more comfortable.

i though Sanchez was excellent again (apart from the unnecessarily panicked clearance that led to their disallow goal.), so I’m encouraged by that.

Doherty, whilst I though my he was left exposed most of the game; when he is on the ball he is just awful at the moment. Completely shot of confidence. Hope he finds some soon.

lots of results going our way at the mo. It’s been a good week. Roll on Sunday night

Agree, I also noticed during the game that Toby often passed the Ball to Sanchez. Considering Sanchez’ composure that isn’t that brilliant.
At least I would like that play to be more limited for the sake of my nerves.

This is pure bollocks. Scott Parker is trying to look after his own players by objecting to the 5 sub proposal. How are lower clubs supposed to react when City could bring on Jesus, Foden, Silva, Aguero and Laporte and their own players are left trying to battle that? The wealthy clubs would be given a massive advantage against the minnows who would be running their best players into the ground because they don't have any depth (because they can't afford it).
Bollocks, yes? Show me the position in the league table of the managers that voted against? Three of them are in the bottom three. So, how much of a difference has saying ‘no’ to this decision helped them? Not a lot.

I could debate this one all day. Not because of how it impacts Spurs, but how it has endangered the health of players across the league. We should be in favor of caring about these people as individuals. This is their livelihoods. If this went to a majority vote to all the players in the PL, I am confident they would be overwhelmingly in favor of this change.

Furthermore, it’s so simple for the likes of Parker to block this from happening, because his team are playing only 75% of the amount of games of teams in the top 6.

I am in favor of anything that can help elongate the careers of professional athletes. Likewise, I am in favor of a rule that makes it easier to include more youth players in match day squads. I am also supportive of something like this because it evolves the game of football. Adds another wrinkle into the sport that is rather compelling. EG: the ability to completely change formations and personnel at HT.

Like with VAR, I’d like to see the data behind a change such as this across the entirety of a season. Be it in one of the pro leagues in the UK, or across Europe. It’s worth at least exploring.

l have a solution - play less games, sorted. They could reduce the PL and make the Championship 1 and 2 south and north. Take some from Div 1 and 2 to make seconf Champ league. I don't want to see 5 subs.

Anyone feel a bit better about the result the other day yet?

Fulham have been good again so far - keep up this form and I don't think they need to worry about relegation

What a job by Scott Parker. Bunch of new players came in at the end of transfer window. Playing like they have been there for years. That is the sign of a top coach.
Matt Wells his assistant, was youth coach with us and is the grandson of Cliff Jones.
If that’s not an omen that they will end up with us I don’t know what is.

For me, the most impressive thing about Parker has been how he's conducted himself. When they looked doomed, his interviews were no different to what they are now. He never seemed flustered, never seemed under pressure, never seemed overwhelmed. And he constantly proclaimed that they were better than the results suggested, they wouldn't change their philosophy, or what they were doing on the training ground. He said that they believed in each other & knew things would change.

He was right!

Fair play to him. He's barely began his journey as a manager but has more class & more belief in his methods than many seasoned managers. And most importantly, despite looking doomed at one point, he's (somehow) managed to keep the players belief in him, as they've clearly been willing to continue to buy into his philosophy and perform for him.

Early days but his future as a manager looks very bright if his first couple of years are anything to go by. He's clearly as professional off the pitch a he was on it. Nothing but respect for the guy!
