Just saw this on SSN because of proposed tube strikes. Seems odd to me. I know this happens but games have been played before when tube strikes have been on.

The suspicious side of me suspects that both teams would rather avoid the hectic Christmas schedule and that has led to this decision.

Hope that when it gets rearranged it catches them both at the worst possible time!

Correct thing to do for the fans. Transport on Boxing day is shocking anyway, the strike would have made it hell.

I give it a month or so and Wenger will be moaning like fuck that it's not fair because off all the fixture conjestion just like he does every year...poor old Arsenal.

It probably is the right thing to do for the fans but surely the club could just lay on a couple of 'licky busses' and pick the fans up from their care homes.

I reckon it will do, best they can hope for is it falls near to an international break, in which case they'll have a lot of tired and jet-lagged players. What are the African contingents like for both teams, could it affect them badly during the ACN?

It will be 23rd or 26th January depending on either clubs involvement in the FA Cup? (I assume that means replays?) both will be knocked out anyway so no worries there!

Didn't they move a game back by a day before for the same reason.

Most of our games seemed to fall on when the Victoria Line was being fixed. I always thought the guy scheduling it was a gooner. I did plan to look back through the archives to prove it but can't be arsed.

Full/Empty...would anyone notice at the Scumerates? :sneaky: Seriously, though, I can't help thinking that the authorities may not be quite so forthcoming if it was us missing half a squad through food poisoning right before a vital game...o_O

What about the fans that have booked accommodation , home and away fans

Yes, I really feel for them. i am travelling to UK on Friday and would be gutted if they postpone the matches I want to visit. Simply talk (pay) to the Underground and open the Piccadilly Line or whatever they need.

That is ridicoulos that they have a free day while every one else has a busy Christmas/ New Year period.

I thought football matches could only postponed for H&S reasons, be it for the players or fans? How does this qualify and why the hucking fell would Spam agree?
