Reality check giving injuries that Trippier, Lamela, Dembele, Townsend and N'Jie not up to it, and in N'Jie's case nowhere near ready.

That was awful. Can't believe how Townsend and Lamela's movement is still as dogfuck as the day they joined. Even if he's slow at least Chadli knows how to make a run in behind the defence. With those two I would happily bet my bank account they won't and will spend the time fucking around tucking inside

Lamelas one on one dribbling is literally the worst I've ever seen for an attacking flair player. I don't think anyone has any belief that he's gonna beat a man. He seems incapable.

Actually it's as bad as Townsends, none of them can go past a man and come out with the ball.

Thing is with Lamela he presses his tiny nuts off and then seems too physically fucked to do anything constructive when he receives the ball. It's the Paul Dickov Effect.

I don't think I've ever seen a team miss so many 1on1s with a keeper as we are currently. The finishing is worrying, and the lack of confidence and calm in front of goal appears to be a virus spreading through the squad. Lamela and Kane simply have to bury those opportunities they had.

Also worrying is that Lamela and Eriksen both played another full 90 in a long sequence and will need to play at the weekend.

Really horrible, horrible performance.

This is my issue with Eriksen. If a club came in with £30m I would gladly accept.

He simply isn't consistent enough. Its games like this he should be grabbing by the scruff of the neck.

Replaceable.

I think there are much higher priorities for replacement! Jesus, whinge about probably our best player for not being consistently outstanding, nevermind the ones who are consistently shit eh...

Perhaps the absence of one Heung Min Son might explain that run of results

Well, he's my adopted player, so I'm going to say yes!

Seriously though, he was making a really good impact and giving us that cutting edge with his willingness to attack his man and burst forward into the box. We really need that again.

if Poch wanna win a Europa game, start with the best line up, score some goals, and put the alternatives in to defend..
if Poch wanna win any game, don't play Townsend anymore..
if Poch wanna improve a game, FFS don't subbed out the best players like Dembele and Njie..
If Poch doesn't intend to start some first teamers, FFS don't even subbed them in since the game doesn't seem a priority in the beginning... sickening to see a loss and first teamers got the fatigue.. worse if they came away with injuries..

I only caught the second half but we looked like we didn't want to be there.

Vertonghen only player to come out with any credit.

City aside, we've been pretty average with or without Son. We obviously lack real quality, but the style of football we play under Poch leaves a lot to be desired. We press well, but I'm still waiting for us to actually look like a coherent attacking unit going forward.

Now that is kneejerk and unjustified...

We have no striker, its a shame really. Trippier was shit, no idea how Lamela stayed on as long as he did and Davies is giving a 1000 reasons why Rose should start ahead of him. Must win on Sunday

He totally vanished in the 2nd half, like a magician! Masterful illusion

He's still young though, hoping he will grow a pair

I'm getting very, very worried about Kane's form.

I'm not very worried, but it's getting to the point where his misses from good chances, one on ones in particular are potentially becoming the difference in us drawing/losing or winning. Off the top of my head he should have scored tonight, against Liverpool in the previous game and against Everton, I'm sure there's been more, but that's already 6 more league points we could have potentially had just from those Merseyside games.

We make life difficult for ourselves by not putting away these chances.

I don't think so. To be fair the way we've played tonight is the way we've played all season. We've been dreadful defending set pieces and not been punished anywhere near as much as we should have been. Our best hope of scoring tends to be from set pieces or if an opposition player makes a howler in the final third etc.

Lamela, Dembele, Trippier, Njie and Townsend were dreadful tonight. But in all honesty they have been for 90% of the games they've played this season.

Bottom line is we can't really be surprised by the result. It's been coming and it won't be the last before the season is out.
