[QUOTE="JUSTINSIGNAL, post:

I know its hard for some of you but maybe try and look at a result in isolation and put it down to a bad day at the office. It will make defeat much easier to take. Because with how young our squad is it is set up for inconsistency so there will be many more days like this.[/QUOTE]

PL Results:

L/D/D/D/W/W/W/D/D

Just where is the "inconsistency" in that run of results?

That run of results (aside from the Citeh game) saw us score just seven goals, or less than a goal a game. Newcastle, Bournemouth and Norwich have scored more goals this season than us and they have a youngsters in their sides as well. There are only six sides who have scored less!

It's not hard (as you say) for any of us to take, but your bluster about being "inconsistent" because of the youth of the team is plainly not true.

My major gripe with how we play is that only three of of our players (Mason, Alli and Chadli) seem capable of making runs beyond the striker and give us passing options that actually threaten dangerous areas. The way we played yesterday was like the worst of AVBs second season. A striker positioned somewhere near the 18 yard-Box, with the rest of the team making riskless passes around 30 yards from the goal until we inevitably lost the ball or got pressed into playing it back to Lloris.

We may think that this is controlling the game, but as long as we never actually up the tempo or try to play the ball into dangerous areas, it's very comfortable to play against. Even when Lamela or Eriksen got the ball in between the lines, there were rarely any movement in behind their defence. Pretty shocking actually, and it really isn't rocket science. Look at the basic runs Mason made against Everton, which led to three clear goal scoring chances. They weren't complicated, and we do have the players to spot the runs and execute the passes. The runs just doesn't come, and it's making me scream violently at the TV.

So, we don't have goals in this side. Just plenty of prospects then. Dress it up any way you want, we are not winning games and we are not scoring goals.

I ain't bothered about how many and who bagged loads last season to be honest, as it has absolutely no reflection on this one, i mean if it did Kane would already be in double figures given the season he had.

So what you're really saying is that you are impatient?

You are not prepared to see if this young team will gain more confidence, experience and know how and start scoring more goals? You are just looking for reasons to criticise even though we have the youngest team in the division, with a manager who is only just into his second year of a 5 year project and has already finished 5th in his first year and has made a steady start this year? Okay then but personally I see a lot more reasons for optimism then pessimism.

Facts speak for themselves, impatient no, realistic yes. If youth is the problem and Poch is the Messiah then add experience. You can't have it both ways, even LVG has added a mix of that.

Oh the "five year project" has been Spurs mantra since 1975 don't you know.

Realistic about what? You can't see into the future, you can't predict how much of an impact Son will have when he starts playing in tandem with Kane, Lamela and Eriksen; you don't know if Kane will come flying back into form. If you had patience you would wait to see how this team develops. Instead you're trying your hardest to be pessimistic. Carry on mate. I'll be calling you out with every big victory we have this season.

My biggest gripe about Europe, is yes lets go for it, i love us being in Europe, but why not start one or two of our star youth players like Onomah and Winks? Amongst 9 premier league experienced players it makes sense.

To me there is no point playing Dier and Dembele in the middle of the park, unless you are against an amazing team and want play 11 behind the ball. That being said though. I would have started Alli or Winks for one of Dembele and Dier and Onomah for Townsend, but in the middle behind the striker.

It's a shame Pritch got injured as i think he would have been great to see. But my main gripe is the lack of mixing it up in Europe. Of course not wholesale changes, but this year Winks, Onomah and Prtich all need game time and without the league cup this makes the most sense.
