Saw we were being linked with Aaron Ramsdale this afternoon... Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse! Terrible goalkeeper! Fingers crossed its just daily mail bs!
Had a tough start to the season but had a decent end in all fairness

Rossi is 23 and came from Penarol. MLS is buying all the younger talent from South America and further developing them as we shift to more of a development model. Miguel Almiron is another example of this. The dismissive BS of "League Two quality" couldn't be further from the truth.

I understand that it has made great strides but it is still a very weak league by European standards.

Sorry but I stand by calling it league 2.

I've no doubt that will change in time.

I'm sorry but if we're offered £40m in a COVID market for Oliver Skipp we have to sell.

He's a decent prospect but so was Harry Winks and look how he's turned out. Skipp is a very hard worker and solid defensively but I wouldn't say he's got the attributes to be a truly world-class player.

Will probably get neg repped to shit but this is just my opinion. Go easy pls lads :cautious:
At 20 I bet neither did Kante

I’m not saying I want us to sign him, just saying that he was looking much better towards the end of the season
Look if we are getting linked with players as average as this then we might as well give up.

He may have improved as the season went on, but to compare him against even the other relegated keepers (areola &johnstone) at any point in the season and he comes up woefully short.

It’s an abysmal link.

Hopefully we can add as many of:

Skriniar
Botman
Demiral
Milenkovic
Hakimi
L Martinez
McKennie
Kulusevski
Kessie
Gravenberch
Koopmeiners
Neuhaus
Thuram

As possible. Preferably all of them :woot:
They are all realistically achievable signings in my opinion.

Key word linked, most likely agent talk and will end up at Watford or somewhere

They’ve got two better keepers than him. He can stay at blades.
I know it’s just a link btw. 99% of all the players we are linked with don’t sign. They’re just usually of a higher standard than this.

I know everyone in the next manager thread is shitting themselves over the lack of transfer funds, but I feel like we are probably a little bloated anyways and even without selling Kane could still make £100m ish just selling those we don't need. Kane leaving whilst sad, represents another good chunk of spending that we could do with.

So yeah, I'm not trying to derail the thread, just stating that we can generate funds and could stand to lose a few players.

Daniel levy on the phone to gladbach:
"Hello is that munching glad bags? I see you have a 30mill release clause on Thuram. My proposal to you is thus: 4mill now, and another 8mill paid over the next 4 seasons."
Gladbach: "Fucksake, all the rumours are true."
Not sure how much Levy knows about Gladbach - he’ll probably ask if they’re willing to throw in Bertie Vogts as part of the deal

Parrott is not ready, lads. He couldn’t get in the Millwall side last season.

Not true. He was injured for a big portion of the time he was at Millwall, nothing to do with his quality or readiness. Add to that, Millwall did style of play was not conducive to Parrott's strengths and he was often deployed as LW, which he is not.

His time at Millwall

He then went to loan at Ipswich where he got rave reviews for his performances and improved the physical side of his game. Though he didn't score a ton of goals ( both teams he went out on loan to really aren't known for their attacking prowess ) he constantly involved in build-up and overall learnt a lot about being a professional. He's a better player for having struggled and toughed it out through those loans and he would look and play better in a team that creates more attacking opportunities.

Disappointing if true, there's a real player in there

I think they are just following up on the story that Ajax want Bergwijn, I don't think a move for Thuram represents much aside from perhaps us knowing Kane is off.

Either way, I don't think we would let possibly useful players go without the new coach giving their blessing. Bergwijn might fit exactly what one coach might want but not anothers.

Norman, Andersen, Gravenberch and a RB

Yeah, I agree; I think Bergwijn has a future here, still. I think we more likely move Lamela and Lucas from the wide forward group, likely decide to not bring Bale back (Unless we sell Kane, then I think it may make sense) and then look to sign a young player like Olise for that group. Other option would be if Jack Clarke appears ready to at least be part of the squad, which I could see the club deciding to do in the end.

What about mendy then?
Ramsdale ranked 10th in save percentage last season.

ahead of:

Sam Johnstone
Edouard Mendy
Martin Dúbravka
Łukasz Fabiański
Bernd Leno
Rui Patrício
David de Gea
Karl Darlow
Kasper Schmeichel
Alex McCarthy
Vicente Guaita

I would take Ramsdale ahead of Hart, all day, every day.
