Thanks Dov...this is fucking brutal. MLS is an awful league. Very few players from MLS could play in the Prem, yet alone in the top half.
If we're going to be looking at MLS players we should be looking at those aged 17-20 to mould them. Like German clubs have.

Alphonso Davies and Tyler Adams and Weston McKennie say hi.

1. I said very few, they are the exceptions. 2. They left at very young ages to make their moves. 3. The young American generation is excellent but unless you buy them u21, then they are going to be tough to sign. We should have been in for McKennie for example.

Rossi is 23 and came from Penarol. MLS is buying all the younger talent from South America and further developing them as we shift to more of a development model. Miguel Almiron is another example of this. The dismissive BS of "League Two quality" couldn't be further from the truth.

I watch a decent bit of MLS, I think the quality isn't great. I don't think it's League Two quality. The stars of the league are solid players but the average MLS player is not close to the level of an average Premier League player. And the stars of the league don't stay very long.

Would you consider Diego Rossi comparable to Marcus Thuram for example?

Just because the MLS isn't as good as the EPL doesn't make it an awful league. Very few players from any league would make it on a top EPL side ... As others have already pointed out, there is talent to be found fairly cheaply in the MLS right now.

Rossi is a really good player. He'll probably get a decent move to Italy or Spain and do well. He's basically scored a goal every 2 games, mostly from the wings. I don't think he is a good fit for us, but he has put up really strong numbers with LAFC. That said, this is almost certainly just agent conjecture.

I’d love to sign McKennie or Adams even now. They both should still be gettable.

Edit: You know that moment when you realise when you realise your ice-cream dropped off your cornet? You're like, "when did that happen"? I'm a bit like that now.
Cheers guys??

Would rather promote Parrott than buy Rossi.
I mean they’re not really comparable players. It’s like saying we shouldn’t have bought joe rodon because we should have promoted cirkin. Rossi tends to play as a winger/wide forward. Much more similar to son or lucas than parrott or kane.

Again, I’m not saying we should sign Rossi. Still think he’s not well suited for the prem.

Some of the technique in those clips would translate into any league. It's how he adapts to the speed of the league which will be the question.

I should have added additional context. If we are indeed buying Thuram ( who thrives as wing forward/winger and would be the better option that Rossi) we should then promote Parrott to cover the back-up CF/FW role, instead of having Thuram as the back-up CF.
