Almost too funny and too good to be true.

So did I get this right, Arse's deal opted for a loan-back but we are pushing for a direct transfer?
There’s no info on whether it will be immediate or not. Have to assume a loan-back as that’s what St Etienne have been pushing for all along.

What confuses me is that the Gooners are acting like we haven't put any legwork in on this deal before today. We've been linked all along, seems we were lurking waiting to pounce.

All speculation but apparently we're offering more cash up front and want him now, whereas Arsenal want to pay a big chunk of it later and loan him back.

If that's the case it will depend on whether St Etienne would prefer cash now or to keep him for a year. Since he only played 15 times they might prefer the money and Arse presumably can't restructure without blowing this summers transfer kitty.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Probably more of a Jan replacement than Toby, especially if we loan him back for the season.

I don’t think anyone has said we want him now. Certainly no source that I’ve seen. It’s just people assuming.

From June 25th...:

Spurs are in engaged in active discussions with the player’s entourage and are fairly confident that they too can agree personal terms with Saliba.
