He has been brilliant this season but im just so angry at him not being able to hit a barn door with a banjo...

Its just what ifs... that would have won us the game i think

He actually played pretty well today, but we all know when it comes to technique and composure ( particularly in the final third) he’s barely PL level.

Fair enough but he was largely the reason we were in the game and dominating. Absolutely huge second half. We know he's no scorer - the problem is he does too.

Ironic that our two best players were also responsible for the loss. Toby with an own goal and Sissoko not finishing them off when we had them on the ropes.

Im just actually emotional about this right now (not crying or in tears haha)

What i find a tad incomprehensible is how a player free 12-15 years out not able to have any composure and hit the target. Even if the keeper saved it then fine but come on... a pro should hit the target... Sissoko was brilliant up to that 'conversion'

I wouldnt say Toby was responsible for the own goal, id say Hugo was, (and im a huge fan of his but Hugo properly fucked up with going for the catch. It wasnt a save because he would have palmed that out somehow.

I think today he was brilliant, both brilliant considering his limitations and because he kind of gave as stability in the midfield getting the ball out of them and running like a horse (his transitions are insane). I don't slash him because I knew he was not going to score that, i mean I didn't even get angry nor surprised at that moment because he was never going to score (was resigned before he shot). That said, for a team like us, we need to aim for a midfielder who can get the ball, pass it to A TEAM-MATE (which is crucial in football) and even score once in a blue moon if given the chance Sissoko had today. Perfect for depth and make him play almost as much as a starter if he keeps this level next season, but bring someone who can make us not think about Moussa when asked "if your full team is fit, who would you play at midfield?". I mean, I love him but we can´t afford to feel resigned before the player shoots because we know he's never going to score and we accept it

For all of his emergence as a better player this season and for all his limitations, is it too much to ask of a professional footballer who has played for a World Cup winning country to at least hit the target from that distance?

He hasn't been brilliant, hes been better than he was.

He was brilliant second half today. Lost count of the number of times he dispossessed a Liverpool player on the edge of our box, calmly played a one two and then charged us upfield.

If only he could finish.

He has been brilliant and i was someone who couldnt stop criticising him - he was awful before this season... he helps with transitions which we lost with Dembele being sold
He's had a handful of good performances.

The rest has Been bang average, with a load of mistakes chucked in.

His transitions were excellent. Too much for a weary Liverpool , but vvd was smart enough just to stick with son , knew Sissoko is a terrible shot
Was either gonna miss or Alison is saving

Was so reminiscent of Zokora in the league cup final against Chelsea when you just knew there was no way he was scoring it. Unfortunately this game had a big sting in the tail that the Chelsea game didn't. Genuinely gutted about today.

He just doesn’t have composure in the locker. You can see it everywhere in his game. If things get tight he will play someone else a hospital pass who it 3rds away. In front of goal he is hopeless, for a players that is meant to be able to surge towards goal he should do better when he gets there. That lack of composure has cost us today, as did it also did from Lloris.

He dominated the midfield in the second half. It's a lie to say otherwise.

He really did. It was wonderful, powerhouse stuff. He took the game away from Liverpool.

But...

I'm one of Sissoko's biggest defenders on this site. Genuinely like the guy for how he's gone about it. However, you can never really shake the feeling that he's a symptom of our problem - that's he's a great squad player but as a first teamer it means we can't really compete with the best.

Pogba doesn't have the work ethic or "heart" that Sissoko does but he has goals and assists. And that's what Sissoko desperately needs if he - and we - are going to take the next step.

I was so gutted he couldn't take that chance. Not just because of the result but what it would have meant for him as a player. But his limitations - however well he's done to work within them - just let him and us down. And it's cruel because he's been so good this season. Genuinely a very very good player and someone to be proud of that he plays in lilywhite.
